A lot of people!! Even towards true Calzaghe fans that never claimed Joe as a top 20 ATG. In fact all this top 20 is nothing but bull**** since you can't just judge a boxer on just what you read. Some of the old greats have no fights on video so no one can make a good assessment.

Some people even don't view Calzaghe as a great even at his own weight which is a shame.

Well calzaghe is the GOAT SMW. Roy didn't fight at SMW as long and ward still has some victories to go before he passes calzaghe.

Hopkins has done an excellent job selecting his opponents. Until now, there was maybe one opponent who was equivalent or bigger to him physically, Tarver. What he's done is amazing for an old man but he isn't as great as what everyone makes him out to be.

Glen Johnson was more his size too. and of course Pascal.

You guys are tripping, Im not hating In fact hopkins is my second favorite fighter of all time but you got to admit Pascal is a 1 dimensional bad champ and hopkins yeah schooled him, and he barely did it Hopkins won but Pascal had atleast 4 rds.... Against a fighter who has speed and more than one dimension he would have trouble and imo he is not going to squeak a win...

Because hopkins has a better resume. It's not debatable.

Again, mad props and what he did at MW apart from beating on little men was a "great" thing that he did.

the only "little man" hopkins beat at MW was Oscar, and no one gives hopkins much credit for that fight since oscar looked poorly at 160 just prior against Sturm. That was his money fight and don't forget Oscar called out and challenged hopkins, not the other way around. Hopkins was 39 years old by that point. Other than that everyone he beat was a MW title holder or contender.

Didn't Calzaghe do the same thing at 168 by winning all the belts?

Calzaghe had the WBO belt for 10 years before he took on a challenge in Jeff Lacy, then unified 3 belts when he beat Kessler. Again Hopkins had all 5 belts.

Hopkins fought everyone there was to possibly fight at 160, Joe can't say the same.

What Hopkins has done is very good ATG. Who knows, maybe after his career is over and he keeps doing what he did with Pascal, he might be a legend after all. Again, that's just my opinion.

Again how do you define legend? Who are legends in the game to you?
