First off, "The Examiner" is not a reputable news outlet. When that **** appears on ESPN or the NY Times, I'll read it there.

Second, that quoted passage never addressed the point in contention which was the cut off date. The issue of the tests themselves has long been resolved. Its the cut off that Pacquiao has NEVER AGREED to.

In that article, Manny Pacquiao DOES NOT STATE that he is no longer seeking a cut off date. Floyd's demand was simple:

"Take the random USADA tests up until the day of the fight or there is no fight."

Its common knowledge that Pacquiao has agreed to take USADA tests. Its also understood that he is willing to take the tests randomly and unannounced. However, that is where it ends. That article provided in the first post on this topic does not contain a statement from Pacquiao or any of his affiliates stating that they are no longer interested in negotiating a cut off date.

Negotiation just hadn't been happening. They'd started, briefly, but capitulated almost instantly, according to Marley.

Marley claimed that Arum had only spoken to Greenburg once, months ago. And that conversation was little more than Arum telling him his demands. Demands that Golden Boy just weren't interested in.

That's basically it. No meetings, no talks, no agreements, no contracts, no deals.

So what actually happened? According to Marley, Arum made these claims days before anyone from team Mayweather spoke out.

Well, Arum has allegedly been fixing a Pacquiao vs. Margarito bout in the Middle East for months. But he knew full well that he couldn't make the fight without being seen to be trying to make Mayweather vs. Pacquiao first.
Plus, HBO, after pressure from Golden Boy, flat out told him that he'd have to approach Mayweather first, or they would not work on a Margarito fight.

Manny Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, said Tuesday that the Filipino fighter has made a significant concession on a pre-fight drug screening plan with Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s camp, adding Pacquiao is "all in. He's agreed to what they're demanding."


Arum said, "We're saying the same thing, that if there's information that emerges in the final 14 days, we can go to the [state boxing] commission and ask for more tests. We can work it out. No one's looking to pull any fast ones."
