Is this proof that Calzaghe didn't beat an over the hill Hopkins?

but that has nothing to do with what bhop did tonight.

cal will leave undefeated, bhop will leave the oldest champ ever.

    i love them both.

anyone that isn't a idiot would think the same....

calzaghie was made to look like a amateur.....he threw over 300 more punches but only outlanded hopkins by 13......

thats called swinging wildly while being countered to death.

calzaghies so called SD win over hopkins is no different from taylors SD win over him.....

but AT LEAST taylor didn't run from a rematch......

I'm no idiot, and i do not think the same. Bhop has had a legends career, one that outshines Cal's.

        but he lost that fight.

Calzaghe won it fairly clearly for me, not to mention Hopkins tried to cheat. In regards to the rematch i don't think anyone wanted to see it again and i doubt HBO would even want to televise that shit. Only people who called for the rematch were bitter Hopkins fans.

I'd also point out Harold Lederman knows a lot more on how to score a fight fairly than the majority of people on here. I had it a bit closer than Lederman though.

Hopkins lost a close fight to a better fighter on the night plain and simple get over it and gtfo with your ****.
            Damn are you hurt?

I'm not a Hopkins fan, it's well known on here. Infact I'm a RJJ fan, therefore I hate Hopkins.

But I seen the fight, Hopkins beat Calslappy, Calslappy retired like a b*tch to duck a rematch.

First of all, if you can score a fight you'll know that Hopkins beat Calzaghe.

Secondly, the people who think Hopkins is still in his prime in his 40s are even more delusional. He is still a fantastic fighter, yes, but Hopkins never got hit in his prime, he did not get hurt, he did not get gassed and sure as hell didn't get knocked down. All of this has been happening to him since he hit his 40s.

So yes, the ones saying "prime Hopkins makes a fool of Calz" are on to something. To be fair to Calzaghe, he wasn't exactly spring chicken either and when he was young he didn't have to 'slap'. But when he was young he did not have the skills and experience of the Calzaghe that we saw in his last couple of fights. So when he fought Hopkins he was at his best.

Hopkins lost to Calzaghe, but Hopkins accomplished greater things in the sport of boxing than did Calzaghe.

It's a shame that Joe had all that talent, but no strong resume to match it.

Jermain Taylor (an inferior fighter to Jones & Calzaghe) beat a younger Hopkins than the one Joe did.

More or a case of Hopkins struggling against speedsters than it is of either of their (Taylor & Calzaghe) greatness.

If you want to talk about Joe's greatness you gotta talk about his fight with Lacy.

Like I said a Boxer fan not a boxing fan. How can you hate any boxer? Its disrespectful and what you say about Calzaghe is uneducated bull****.
So you saw the fight well so did I, I was there at ringside but so what, that only makes you more of an idiot for thinking Hopkins won.

lol @ Calzaghe having a stat for "power" punches. I thought it was a close decision that could have gone either way, and being awarded to Calzaghe was perfectly fair. But truth is that Cal was alot closer to his prime than BHop was. Solid win on Cal's resume, unfortunately it might be the only one. BHop's resume and willingness to fight anybody, despite his age, is what will be remembered as part of his legacy. Hopkins >>>>> Calzaghe

I dont want to upset the Calzaghe fans, I thought he was a great fighter with a very effective style. He would have given anybody problems and deserves a ton of credit. But Hopkins is creeping into ATG status and who do you think people 50 years from now will remember as a better fighter? This isnt even a debate.
