does joe even have "real" fans? i mean like real *******-like fans. it's like every one i've come across on here seem like bored brits taking the piss. all this "legend" crap have a sarcastic tone to them to me. i don't know, maybe it's all genuine or maybe calzaghe is really that laughable that it can give such an impression...?Comment

You used the Lacy fight as an example, call me a hater or what ever else you want to but Calzaghe slapped the **** out of Lacy with girl like cuffs with the inside portion of his gloves which was the primary cause of the various cuts and swelling that showed up on Lacys face. It's really not hard to throw 6 or 7 punch combos when they are thrown with his arms only and not turning them over. I still can't understand how the refs never warned him or took points for his cuffing tactics.
Calzaghe moves well, has good defense and slaps like a b*tch. If I was in there taking the inside portion of his gloves in his so called punches I would first mention it to the ref and if nothing happened I would start cuffing his ass back with a shot to the nutz or maybe throw an elbow into his face for good measure.
Watch the tape again of that fight, I'll bet that 20% of Calzaghe so called landed punches were illegal blows. Hitting with the inside portion of the gloves is illegal.
I just call it like I see it..............Rockin'

I heard Enzo Calzaghe created his own training methods that helped Joe develop his blinding hand speed and punching technique. For example, he'd throw beehives at a young Joe armed with oven mitts. Joe had to swat them away from his face and scare off the bee swarm or he was given no dinner that night.Comment

Get PBF's nuts off your chin STRUGG. It's almost impossible for you not to bring dude up. Forget his sorry behind, you'll be better off.
On another note, Calzaghe was a real good fighter. He probably would of had more KOs had it not been for his hand problems. Although I think he was a good fighter, the fact that he fought a lot of C level guys kinda kills his all time ranking with me. Not to take anything away from him though cause joe was nice in the ring.Comment

Anybody that tells me that Calzaghe doesn't slap I say just watch daggums video of Cal/Hopkins here on page 3. He throws 9 shots not turning any of them over. LMAO, at one point you can see him just flailing his hands like a little girl...........Rockin'

Joe will never get credit from a lot of Americans, but a lot of Europeans watched his fights and whilst he did slap at times, the skills he had far outweighed his slaps, but that's the easy thing to poke fun at.
For a white guy, he was slicker than most black folks who claim they are slick!
He probably should have gone to the USA sooner, but the guy was filling stadiums in the UK and we all know boxing is a dying sport in the America where only a few can fill arenas and stadiums, so he took the cash over appeasing a dying fan base...debateable which was the right choiceComment

When you slap you can move your hands faster.
All joking aside Joe was able to adjust in a fight and got stronger as the fight went. He had a good chin and was mentally determined to win. His combination punching with angles would had given anybody trouble.
Too bad that he waited till the end of the career to take challenges that were worthy that shouldhad come earlyier in his careerComment
