Cotto Has Always Been Overrated...

Cotto has a weak chin....accept it, just like Wlad did.

i dont recall seeing cotto going down time and time again like wlad did. i dont recall cotto running out of breath after getting his face smashed in time and time again like wlad did.

only thing i remember is cotto getting caught like EVERY fighter in the world does, and maintaining his composure, and WINNING THE FIGHT.

rocked or not, he WINS THE FIGHTS.

and dont talk about torres as a nobody.

we have no idea how good he really is, whether you look at his past fights or not, HE HADNT LOST. and his knockout percentage was super high, so the fact that his past opposition ****** could just mean he was good but wasnt put in with anybody at his level, and he just demolished everyone in his way.

same with mayorga. same with maussa. dont say anything about him until you see him in with someone else.

oh, and a cotto-mayweather fight at this point would probably look really similar to mayweather-bruseles.

I said that from the beginning.
People were saying Cotto is waaaay different from Bruseles. I sure as hell don't see the difference. Cotto has more power and Bruseles has a stronger chin.

i just dont see how anyone can say he has a weak chin...

he got hit with a lot of clean shots from a power hitter (look at his knockout percentage) and he didnt go down until he was pulled down...and even then he kept coming.

Agreed, the shots he was taking would have rocked any of the top tier 140 pounders, including Mayweather. The thing is though, Mayweather would have never got hit with those shots.

I won't say Cotto has a weak chin....because he managed to not get KO'd after eating a ton of bombs.

But, he is VULNERABLE to big punches because of his stiff style.
He is there to be hit, & hit hard.

mayweather is on another level, and the fact castillo was even close just shows how great castillo is, but mayweather is a phenom.

as far as cotto and bruseles, their styles are similar because i think they train together or some ****, but i cant see bruseles going thru the same opposition cotto beat...corley, sosa, ndou, maussa, etc...

their styles are VERY similar tho...and yeah, somewhat robotic, which would give him trouble with hatton, or mayweather...tszyu has a similar style, but i dont know about that one...

Some poster, a few weeks back, claimed that Cotto was the MOST COMPLETE FIGHTER HE HAD EVER SEEN.


That, was ridiculous then.....& is even more so this morning.


What now.....those claiming Cotto was a future hall of famer are now just gonna say "hey, at least he's fun to watch!" ?
The criticism of him is fueled by the undeserved expectations put upon him.
