I'm pretty confident that Dawson would beat Hopkins. No way I can say he has any chance to stop Hopkins.

CONFESSION TIME!!!...a few years ago I was HOPING B.Hop would pass the torch to Chad...I think he's a likeable, cool dude...nothing personal against Chad...but B.Hop would beat him in a chess match...he's a one handed fighter who likes to play chess in there....no high work rate....so he's a one handed chess player with a low work rate...tailormade for the oldman!!

        I think Chad beats Hopkins.

Hopefully the old Chad will be back in his next fight.

Here is what one of Diaconu's trainers responded when he was asked how they were preparing for a new Chad with Emmanuel Steward in his corner.

''Steward can't give a chin to Dawson.''

If Diaconu doesn't try to box too much and is focused on finding that chin at any cost, I believe he stops Dawson in his tracks. Dawson has a terrible chin indeed.

I was thinking while I favor Chad still, that Diaconu can KO Chad, AND probably outbox him on the inside. I hope Steward is taking the time to work with Dawson on inside fighting becaue Diaconu is pretty good on the inside; he has those short "inside fighter" arms that are perfect for hooks and uppercuts. If Dawson can't keep the distance and prevent DIaconu from coming in, dawson could get beat the hell up.

He teaches them how to set it up.If he sees his fighter cruising, they normally get an earful. I still laugh at the time he cursed out Lennox Lewis in the corner against Mike Tyson and yelling at Jermaine Taylor in a lackluster performance.I think he's going to bring that same killer instinct into the corner of Dawson. That's going to bring out a beast in him.
Agree, I think we're going to see a new Dawson. I think Dawson will win this one by TKO.

Don't believe Chad will ever see Nard in the ring. I have a good feeling Nard retires after the Pascal fight, which he wins 116-112, and waits about a year to see if anything develops at cruiser other than USS Cunningham (whom he won't fight as both from the Illadel). Nard knows 2 things: (a) Chad is a horrible style matchup for him and will never let him get off similar to Calzaghe v. Nard but even worse from a 6'3" southpaw frame; and (b) other than the obscure Foxwoods Casino, Chad has no fanbase to produce a even an average gate.
