the thing is, even if Edwards is somehow physically perfect for boxing(which I dont believe), most of boxing is actually skill and muscle memory.

guys that are already overconfident in themselves or primarily use physical superiority to win fights rarely end up learning the mental aspects of boxing, and dont ever learn to have good technique(because to them, there is no necessity to).

I dont like writing people off before seeing them, but chances are Edwards will go in there thinking hes hot ****, meet someone who has more skill, gas out early and get thumped.

If he actually dedicates himself to boxing and focuses purely on the skill aspects of boxing and not be obsessed with being physically superior, yes, there is some sort of chance he could go far. I just dont see that situation happening.

By my calculations I'd estimate it at 1.2547%

Exactlly..... What does that have to do with Boxing or fighting in general?

And charging in with your size almost never works.....

          Look at this.....

Bob used to be a former NFL football player too.... Roid Muscles/Size<<<<<< Technique/Fighting SKILL

Look at some of his fights, once he gets touched in the face he runs away and goes into turtle position.

Just because you're big and strong doesnt mean you will become a great boxer, the muscle diffirence between NFL players and Boxers is complete opposite. NFL players go for brute force, clumsy but strong. Boxing you need a mix of power/stamina/technique.

Look what happened to Brett Rogers in Strikeforce, he got KTFO by Fedor.

Once Edwards feels a real punch its going to be diffirent. I hate to bash people but with the way this guy began talking trash before having 1 fight he deserves to get **** on. Boxing doesnt need anymore clowns, we have enough.

Afaik the Canadian HW Champ started Boxing at like 26 or 27 and he has the big frame he's still not anywhere close to even a Monte Barret.
Brett Rogers is a good fighter who can take a punch....

Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar.... the roiders/pro wrestlers/"Physical specimen athletes" are the better examples..... Even though they both have a background in wrestling they both are huge guys that hate getting punched in the face.....

Ray Edwards' professional boxing career began with a victory on Friday night, but the unanimous four-round decision wasn't exactly inspiring.

The defensive end-turned-heavyweight fought through nerves and cramps to beat Duluth's T.J. Gibson at Grand Casino Hinckley with an uneven, unremarkable performance that drew scattered boos from a near-capacity crowd and mild disappointment from his trainer.
