No way he is faster than Ali or hits harder than Tyson. What these guys don't realize is it takes years of training to fight on the elite level and no football player is coming in here and winning the heavyweight championship like Lesnar did in UFC.

First off it wouldn't put that to rest. Had Ray Edwards put his full attention towards boxing as a little kid you don't know what he could of been. Secondly, anyone with an ounce of knowledge would realize that the best athletes for boxing are in the NBA, not the NFL.

If Vitali Klitschko put his full attention towards boxing as a little kid who knows how good he could have been. He didnt put his full attention to boxing until he was 25...but that doesnt matter, only black people are allowed excuses.

Okay, well regardless using Ray Edwards, a guy with no experience who has spent his whole career playing football is unfair to say NFL players would have no success in boxing.

As for best athletes though it still is boxing. Most NFL players do not have a good build or skills for boxing compared to the NBA. NBA players are long, leaner cut, and a bit quicker with the hands.

Well if a football player can win the UFC championship. Why cant a footballer win the heavyweight championship.

"I think it's very, very realistic for him to have an impact in the heavyweight division," Steward told ESPN (via the Star-Trib). "Ray is a natural boxer in terms of rhythm and coordination. But it's his speed that surprised me because he is such an extremely big guy.

"With the proper training and regular fights, I would say in about 10 months he could be a serious threat to any middle-of-the-road or Class B heavyweight. ... Ray would be a tough match for any heavyweight outside of the top 12 in the world."

Look what happened to the NFL guys who went to compete in Strikeforce and the UFC. They were hyped as the next big thing and they got demolished by club level fighters. It was emberassing. Todays boxing is diffirent than boxing 60 years ago where they fought until 40-50 years old. Today the diffirence between the top level guys is so small and the competition is so huge that it takes years of training and reps to be the best. Boxers have been conditioned for it for tens of years.

My prediction? He will be 5-0 with 5 KO then HBO will put him on a undercard against someone like a HW version of Ishida and he will get destroyd by a guy with 20 loses.

Hell, NFL players are the biggest cry babies after soccer players. If you want to find real men go to the Rugby matches and there are some big boys there who would WHOOP the NFL guys in a brawl or fight.
