Still waiting for an honest answer:

When was the last time you heard of a winning trainer switching to the losing fighter for the rematch? From someone else.

I won't speak about the whys and wherefores of the loss, though it seems likely that drug use and severe personal problems were to blame, but I will say that it was this fight that convinced me that McCall had probably the best chin of any fighter in history. He was literally walking around in a daze of his own making, taking flush shots from Lewis and reacting as if they were no more than a minor irritation in his in-ring breakdown. That, and he was never even remotely hurt during his entire career.

Not even Chuvalo has anything on this guy.

Maybe part of this comes from sparring with Tyson for a while?!

If anything Mccall showed he could manhandle Lewis in that second rd if he chose to.... NOT buying this W!
          Good on you.

Steward jumped ship straight away and nobody knew there would be a rematch, the rematch only came about 4 fights later and only because Tyson ducked Lewis.

Seems McCall ain't the only one with a drug problem.

                -Mccall hits harder than Vitali
-Mccall has a stronger chin than Vitali

Thats what I learned from those two fights.

McCall has come up with a million reasons why he did what he did that night.

When I was down in Miami a few years ago, he told me that he threw the fight because he owed a lot of money to drug dealers and they wanted to bet against him to get their money back (and then some).

                  Who knows?

Well, IF you are on the level, that's a kind of confirmation. It was so obvious when he stopped throwing, against someone he KOed with his eyes closed before.

And think how fearless (of Lewis) he was. Not throwing back those last 2 rounds, looking away from Lewis, and he' still there.

And a "crackhead" wouldn't be able to survive against a great HW champion!

Sure seems like a version of a redux of LaMotta/Fox, where he wouldn't go down, but knew he better not win. And what he had to do, as with LaMotta, caused what you saw (his emotional reaction.) [Remember what DeNiro/LaMotta said: "If i don't lose I'm in worse trouble." Or words to that effect.]

A crackhead would not be able to stay in there, while not throwing back.

Why would he owe money to drug dealers if he wasn't on drugs?
