Dude wasn't there to throw the fight.. he was mentally unprepared & FIT to fight. He tried for the first couple of rds.. esp, in the second rd where he had Lewis backpeddling. It was clear for nearly the last 2 rds where Mccall wasn't even fighting & barely defending himself. Lewis was throwing bombs at Mccall who was walking through them in a drug stupor. Lewis had to know he was getting free licks on him for nearly 5 minutes.. why didn't he motion Oliver to start fighting? It's because he was happy that he wasn't & then when they called the fight he raises his hands in triumph as if he'd gotten his revenge. Pathetic to say the least.. a MENTALLY fit Mccall would'VE done the same exact thing he did in the first fight.
Just saw Lennox Lewis vs. Oliver McCall 2 the strangest thing in Boxing.

drugs too.
mental breakdown and drugs.
probably couldn't do any because he had a fight coming up and he was in withdrawal or something.
sidenote: mccall was a bad man. not the best fighter in the world but he had a granite chin and pop. a nightmare for almost everyone.Comment

Steward was Mcalls trainer for the first Lewis fight and left Mccall to train Lewis, that mentally broke him in the ring, especially after eating some straight rights and realizing Lewis was much better since their first fightComment

Watch the 2nd round guys, Mccall definitely came to fight! But when he realized Lennox was not going to fall for the same old traps, he mentally broke down and gave up.
Lennox had the exact same affect on Akinwande...
Lennox was a scary guy in his prime and a bad matchup for everyone he faced.Comment

He was having an absolutely torrid personal life (that had been going on a very long time), he'd been out of the game a while and he was also suffering heavily from drugs.
He was actually pulled out of a rehab stint to train for this fight.Comment

yes.It always amazed me that people couldn't figure out what this was.
McCall obviously was ordered to lose the fight. He refused to allow himself to get knocked down. He avoided Lewis' punches but would not throw his own.
A somewhat similar thing happened when Jake LaMotta had to throw his fight with Billy Fox. Only difference there is that came out publicly years later. Interesting that Steward switched sides--where have you seen that happen before?
The whole thing was very rotten, and any "breakdown" in the ring was similar to what you saw DeNiro portraying LaMotta crying after having to lose to Fox.
This was all so obvious to those who can see.
because when you want to throw the fight , best way to do it is to start crying in the ring.Comment

I wouldnt bother responding to him. He thinks McCall was 'obviously' ordered to throw the fight. Was he also ordered to cry during the fight? Was he also ordered to have mental problems that caused him to be tackled by several police officers for trying to steal a christmas tree from a hotel lobby?
McCall also lost against Bruno ffs!Comment
