No he didn't. Manny never fought at 154lbs, making his claim of 8 world titles in 8 different weight divisions completely bogus. The fight took place at 150lbs. Therefore, no title should have been on the line, IMO.

Same with the Cotto fight. If the fight is for a world title, you fight at that weight limit, no if and or buts.

Manny is a joke these days.

His last true challenge was against Cotto, but Cotto was ruined after the Margarito fight.

i stand corrected then. But if floyd can go over a year without fighting and face a true challenge right after a tuneup, why can't Margarito?

It really doesn't do much for Floyd or Manny even if they DO beat Martinez. I mean really, what's it gonna' do for their respective careers? Push them to the top of the p4p lists, which they are already on top of?

And it's not going to make them rich, either.

Trust me, they'd fight Sergio if there was enough money to be made. Regardless of how big he is, or isn't.
No dawg U are completely wrong.Beating Martinez right now easily & I mean easily catapults Pacman to Sugar Rays title easily.Beating Martinez right now makes Floyd greater than Pacman, easily.Furthermore I'm willing to bet that either fighter against Martinez does better than all of either's recent ppv's.Martinez is the most legit opponent that Floyd or Manny can face right now.Any boxing fans who are tired of watching Manny's bull**** ppv's can attest to that.

Yes, that is correct. Catchweights devalue titles. Why even have championships in weight divisions, if the weight limits aren't going to be enforced?

I hear your point of view. From a FAN'S perspective it's a very lucrative fight. But it would take a truckload of money to get either Floyd or Manny in the ring with Sergio. I'm talking like $30-$35million minimum.

For status' sake, yes a win over Martinez would mean a lot to either man. But a loss puts a serious dent in their marketing value, even if it is to a MW. A casual boxing fans puts a lot of stock into wins and losses.

This is coming from an avid Floyd critic,Margarito is a cheater & a face 1st brawler who taken monster shots in almost every fight,he should never be used to soil Floyd's ring intelligence.
