Chavez Jr. needs to step up eventually and this could be a great fight for Cotto. I dont have much of a problem with it.

Again, why not fight Angulo in PR? or maybe Cintron in PR, that'd be a huge deal on the island. right?
The same could be said for Chavez Jr. not "willing to fight the real elite of the middleweight.." HE already pulled out of a Cotto fight last year citing a cold or some other excuse..

Why has Chavez shown NO interest in fighting Martinez? Cotto is not true Jr. Middle and has NO business at 160 period.

So is he a bum or lagit?

Size means nothing if he's trash like you guys say, why so worried?

              Is this why?

I think that Chavez Jr is too big at 160, but still Chavez Jr has no punching power and hasn't fought any good fighter in his entire career. I live in Mexico and he's completely overrated because of TV Azteca, and even if he beats Zbik (which I haven't fight seen by the way) I don't believe that he would be able to beat Cotto. Maravilla? Well Martinez is out of the question, he would destroy Chavez Jr and Cotto at the same time!
The only thing that I hope is that Chavez Jr doesn't start making excuses. About a year ago he said he wanted Cotto but never did anything to get a fight. Then he said he wanted Martinez, but guess what? He didn't do anything to get that fight either. And then when he was going to fight Wolak, suddenly he got fever and dropped out of that fight also.
Something that nobody has mentioned is that there is also Veneno Rubio, who destroyed Lemieux in Canada this year. He also said that he wanted the winner of Zbik and Chavez Jr. Do you see the pattern? Everybody wants the winner of that fight because Cotto, Veneno and Martinez know that it's the easiest way to get the championship, no matter if Chavez Jr or Zbik wins.

Sergio Martinez wanted to fight Cotto back in Feb for the WBC middleweight belt at 155. Arum low balled Martinez and it fell through.

Martinez is and will always be "too big" for Top Rank fighters.

Cotto would fight Martinez but Arum is desperately trying to keep his cash cows intact. Arum doesn't want Chavez or Cotto anywhere near Martinez at any weight.

nobody is touching Martinez period, he's just too dangerous.
