I think it is fine, he earned it.

Arce moved up in weight to face an undefeated un tested young champion and there was no talk about cherry picking or taking the easy way out. Why with Cotto people?
Who gives a shit if someone is undefeated? That's now how you judge a fighter.

And no, he didn't 'earn' it, nobody in history has earned the right to win a paper title and call themselves a 'world champion' while being unwilling to face the best in the world. No matter how many boxers do that or how many fans think it's OK, it isn't. Cotto has always been a real fighter and doesn't need to do that kind of thing.

Chavez Jr is a lagit 160, he can't make 154 anymore. I agree, that would be too big for Cotto but if Chavez is **** like most people say, then whats the problem?

The only thing Sulaiman holds is his nuts. He calls no shots other than setting up fellow Mexicans for paper WBC trinkets much the way the WBO sets up Rican fighters and the IBF helps Euros.

We dont need the WBC to know Martinez is the Champ.

That said, Cotto beats Chavez Jr at 154, 160, or 200 Lbs for all I care. Lets not act like Chavez Jr is a compact muscular 160 Lbs that would rain down bombs by being so much bigger. Dude is a lazy sloth (in boxing terms) and should be ruling the 147 ranks, not milling about 154-160 fighting nobodies. And dont get me started on Zbik, he is the Euro version of Jr.

Sulaiman setting up Jr has more to do with hi being Mexican than being a Top Rank fighter. Sulaiman can go ahead and strip Jr, it wont hurt his earning potential one iota. Arum knows how to market that scrub and has made millions on his mediocre talent. And Chavez is laughing all the way to the bank. If that fool fought Cotto, Martinez, and Canelo in has next 3 fights, win or lose he could retire and be set for life, even if he goes 0-3 in that trilogy he would have made more than any other mexican boxer in history...more power to him. He's been making that money for years now, Sulaiman just bent over for him with this Zbik match-up but he's been known to do that to get his corny WBC bets and T Shirts on placed on premium TV.

I was with you until that second paragraph. Chavez Jr isn't a sloth or lazy, he is with Roach now and has come in great shape for his last fights. It seems he is with the right camp now and is taking boxing seriously.

There are great and legendary trainers in Mexico but when you are the son of a legend, sometimes it's best to get away from the hoopla in your home town.

Chavez cannot make 154 let alone 147 anymore, at least not at his best. he's a very big welter and he belongs at 160lbs, Roach said this and I agree.

Cotto has problems with pressure fighters who are bigger than him and that's what Chavez is. I'm not saying Cotto can't win because he's the ore experienced and better fighter but he's at the end of his career and is moving up in weight.

That alone should make it interesting.

As much as I hate Cintron, it'd be a better fight if Cotto took him out. I'm interested in Manny Stewards thoughts on this fight. He has too look his fighter in the eye and tell him not to take this fight
I totally agree with this!!!!! Bull**** fight that Cotto wont get any credit for, but if he loses he will get ****ted on. And he might very well lose this fight. Cotto barely weights 158-160 fight, and he is a small ass JMW!!!!!

                Damn Bob Arum

You just contradicted yourself in the same sentence. You said it's a fight that cotto won't get credit for, then said if he loses he will be ****ted on.....?

If it's a BS fight, how can he lose? JCC is nothing but a bum right? So why so concerned? It should be like taking candy from a baby.

chavez is a bum but a legit middleweight vs a small jr middleweight has a decent advantage. and yeah if cotto wins, he aint getting credit for it. if h loses, he will be slayed big time.
