Jose Sulaiman holds all the cards in this. Sergio Martinez as champion emeritus has the right to challenge the WBC middleweight title holder whenever he wants. so if Chavez Jr is champ and doesn't fight Sergio, he will be stripped.
Arum's cut Sulaiman out of the Pacquiao gravy train even after Sulaiman practically gave Pacquiao the 154 strap by stripping Martinez and letting him fight that bum Margarito. Sulaiman also created a paper champ, Zbik, so another Top Rank fighter could win a title.
personally I think Sulaiman will look for a little revenge against Top Rank and force Chavez Jr to face Martinez or be stripped. Since Saul Alvarez became Mexico's sweetheart Chavez Jr is an after thought, so that allows Sulaiman to suddenly remember the WBC's rules

Would love to see Cotto win a title at 160, even if He does back to 154 after. Once in a while the victim has a heart big enough to raise up to greatness and if some one deserves it, is Cotto.

I am about ready to ignore Top Rank fighters. Arum just fights in house and the fights he makes destroy legacies.
Cotto and Pacquiao are warrior but how does it look when Arum cherry picks titles and fights for them?
nobody will do it but people should boycott Top Rank until Arum quits this BS. the best should fight the best.

Cotto's career seems to be winding down and that's fair enough, but I wouldn't want to see him follow the Floyd-Pacquaio model of winning multiple paper division titles without facing the best (ie. Martinez).
Plus, if he wins, anyone else think Arum will try and do Cotto-Pac II for the MW title? Which would be ridiculous.
Arce moved up in weight to face an undefeated un tested young champion and there was no talk about cherry picking or taking the easy way out. Why with Cotto people?
