I know you don't cable TV in Mexico... but you gotta raise your standards. That is NOT what most would refer to as "owned." Do you just clap for each other without reading the posts?
Its been this way over the years between Mexico and Puerto Rico.. We have each had some surges in the rivalry its Mexicos turn and they are doind a great job of beating our young champs. The tides will eventually turn. If it keeps going like this it can no longer be called a rivalry.. Recently its more like a massacre
Got to agree 100% u know u always get a good fight from both races if only our PR fighters had a good chin like most Mexicans do
Or for those who didn't know Vasquez Sr very much he always said in order to beat a Mexican u got to hit them across the head with a stick cuz there super tough
And to respond to another poster it does hurt us Boricuas to lose to a Mexican well it at least passes me off Haha
Although PR holds a small edge over Mexico the way things are going I can definitely see Mexico catch us up or pass us up very soon
Watch the last flurry... Much of it was missing and Vasquez landed a shot and it seemed as though Arce was tired of MISSING like 10 shots at the end. Vasquez father was too emotional and thus threw in the towel too soon. I love my son and can see how I would not like to see him taking unnecessary shots... Add to that he was WAY across the ring and could not see that Arce was punching a lot of air.. I feel as though having seen the tape, Vasquez father will realize he was a bit too quick to throw the towel.
WOW...Arce rocked Vasquez all throughout the whole 12 round. Vazquez did not land with nothing special. He had no legs. His head was getting snapped back plenty of times. He was getting hit hard while on the ropes. He was fighting with his hands down. not blocking. He had a bloody nose. His reflexes were not their. HE WAS DONE!
Cortez should of stopped it before vasquez corner did. I guess the only reason he didn't is cuz vazquez was Puerto rican as he is. The whole i'm fair but i'm firm is bullshyt.
Vasquez dad actually AIMED at Cortez head when he threw the Water bottle to the ring...
BAD Refereeing on Cortez end....Good stoppage from Vazquez corner. Jr could of got seriously hurt.
and GIVE ARCE HIS PROPS....all hear are exuses and crying...
Like all mexicans arce was using his head to try and open a cut on wv2 and tackling make the rematch as arce next fight wv2 will win his belt back and be more aggressive

You're an idiot. It was Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. who headbutted Jorge Arce in the 4th round. That headbutt caused a cut.
Former champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. wants an immediate rematch to avenge the only loss of his career. On Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Vazquez was stopped in the twelfth round by Mexican veteran Jorge Arce. Vazquez's co-promoter Felix "Tutico" Zabala says his boxer is not willing to take the fight anywhere, even in Mexico. He said Vazquez had vision problems after some kind of gel, possibly from Arce's hair, got in his eye.

I'm guessing this is the last of P.R.'s glory days. The Mexican population is exploding(more importantly in the U.S.A. where we don't have to worry about food like in Mexico) and boxing is gaining in popularity. On the other hand, the population in Puerto Rico is declining and the Ricans are getting absorbed by those whom they live among in the U.S.A. Lastly, the # of boxers in P.R. is at it's peak because of Trinidad's exploits not too long ago. There is no Tito today and the # of boxers in P.R. will also decline for that reason along with the others.
