Don't get it, I understand that Martinez hit the scene late but it's about consistency here, Martinez has consistently fought the tougher guys. He's pretty much doing what Pacquiao's suppose to be doing.

LMAO.

They want it to be as recent as possible to be able to remove Pac from #1. but WTF?? i wont argue about it its their ****ing list anyway

Just want to be a little OBJECTIVE about the Comparison :

as Recent as 2007

Pacquiao is fighting 33-0 Jorge Solis and Marco Antonio Barrera
Martinez is fighting 3-34-2 Pavel Florin Madalin and 14-4 Russell Jordan (Michael and Bryon ? )

2008

Pacquiao is fighting Juan Manuel Marquez, Diaz and Dela Hoya
Martinez is fighting Archak TerMeliksetian who lost 5 of his last 6 and 16-6, 30-5 Alex Bunema

2009

Pac - Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton
Martinez - Draw Cintron and lost to Williams ??? WTF??

2010

WOW!! at long last they are comparable

Pac - Clottey and Margarito
Martinez - Pavlik and Williams

Dude, please think before answering, consistency??? Look at Pacs opposition since 2004 and look at Martinez, theres no way in hell you can even put them in the same sentence!!!!!

What you dont get is that because of a couple of good wins you dont overthrown the P4P #1 guy.

Martinez resume, before fighting Cintron, is a coplete and utter joke!!!!

So he gets a free pass facing mediocre opposition because of the great things he's accomplished in the past? No man, NO!. Not my criteria for P4P. The bold, Ok, completely understandable, but he's been more consistent as of late and has fought the tougher guys, point blank man. Not even debatable. See, what your doing here is allowing Pacquiao to hang on to the past.

It's simple, your fighting weak to mediocre opposition, then that's what your doing. No justifying that.

Now your complaining about hating or discrediting, I'm being real here. Dzinziruk, Paul Williams, Pavlik > Clottey, Margarito, Shane. Even Martinez's win over Cintron (Couldn't care less about the judges) is arguably more impressive than Pacquiao's last three wins.

You guys are blind man...

I tend to agree here.
There is a difference between judging a boxer P4P in career wise (or last 10 yrs) vs say in the last 3-4 fights. Precedent should take place 3-4 fights than taking consideration the last 5. IMO, the ranking should move accordingly.

.
I agree. But is that enough to catapult him to #1? heck even #3 is a GREAT SUCCESS already.

and that's ALL he have
