You are spot on. Eubank, Jones, and Hopkins all destroy him in their prime. One could argue that old Bernard did beat him. Joe was an opportunist who fought big name fighters out of their prime or at the tail end of their career and still could not win big. At least when Pacquiao beat up Hatton and Oscar at the end of their careers, he did it big. He didn't struggle to a decision.
If Calzaghe had been American

I agree, you have to look at the whole picture when it comes to records. You have to see who they lost to, when they lost to them, whether they were robbed on the scorecards or not, etc.About 6-7 of Johnson's losses were questionable and should have been draws at the least.
Orlando Salido has 11 losses something like that, and that didn't stop him from owning Lopez, a guy that every one was saying was gonna steamroll Salido, and even I personally thought Lopez was gonna decision Salido. We underestimate boxers with lots of losses but you have to know the true story behind every loss to really judge the fighter. Salido hadn't been stopped since 1998, Johnson hadn't been stopped since the Hopkins fight which was a corner stoppage, and Johnson's only TKO loss, back in the 90s.
You really can't underestimate guys like Johnson and Salido for having a good number of losses.
And really you can't give too much credit to fighters just for retiring undefeated, like Calzaghe.Comment

Carl Froch faced tougher competition in the past 2-3 years than Calzaghe faced in his entire career.Comment
