but to comment on the TS post. Tito would have beaten him anyday. Maybe if Vargas had a bit more fights under his belt but I really doubt it. Tito was a beast and it was the hooks that beat him into submission!

I have alway thought the same thing, Vargas had even the fight by the 4th, also keep it mind that trinidad didnt just Low Blow once, it was 3-4 times thru the fight

Tito's left hook did more damage than that low blow. How would you know for sure you are going to slow a fighter down hitting him low when they were a cup. Not always it protects you but most times it does

Vargas chin was weaker than his balls... No need for low blows. Tito beat him down and Vargas was trying to win on points taken away from Tito. He knew he was done.

i just watched the 12th rd of that fight again. before it started titos pops told him "your gonna give him a beating in this rd" and boy did he ever. fernando looked like he got shot by a fan from the stands or something when tito landed that big left for the first kd. then the final kd, man, that right hand landed so ****ing hard on vargas' face, that his mother sitting at ringside had to have felt that ****.

Yes, he did. In round 4, after Vargas had floored him and was on the attack after that, Trinidad hit him low on purpose and then PUNCHED him! What was this? Was he deliberately trying to injure him as much as possible? Surely he knew he could be disqualified? Or was he just so desperate he HAD to do it? It wasn't like he was in a major trouble, he still had his composure. After all, he was kd many times before and had always come out on top. I think he saw something in Vargas that kind of scared him, he thought "this guy ain't like the others I fought before" and then he made the move. He needed to slow him down.

I thought it was very unfair and that people, not just Tito's fans, but many others tend to glorify this as a great victory for him is really unfair. My point is, its possible that Vargas coulda hurt Trinidad more if he hadnt been lowblowed and maybe he had won the fight.

Terrible excuse, Vargas was too inexperienced coming into that fight and Tito legitimately ruined him. Just look at Vargas' jaw snapping back and forth during the fight, that's the real damage.
