Great, lets just be clear that after this "tune up", or "come back" or whatever he wants to call it, he's gonna step to pac, and not go on another extended vacation. That whole song and dance of coming back and tuning up, only to disappear has gotten real old. But if it's true I'll say nothing but good things about the guy, especially if he fights a stud like ortiz, even though I got floyd on a clear decision, that would be the most impressive thing he's done in years.

Seems that people missed the point of this article, FLOYD making a comeback this year! Cotto would be a great comeback fight for several reasons: he sells tickets & moves ppv's as a b-side, he has an accomplished resume despite the hate & discontent that some people dish out and besides the wear n tear he is only 30/31 years old. He has the tools to be COMPETITIVE (not a favorite): great timing, above average reflexes, stiff jab, good power & he would be the aggressor. When Cotto is the aggressor he is a beast, but, aggressive fighters like Pacman/ Margs will always be his kryptonite. Moneywise & competiveness, Cotto vs Mayweather makes sense. Legacywise, Martinez vs Mayweather is the only other meaningful fight besides Pacman. Ortiz? He's not ready, if you knock Cotto than you can certainly knock Ortiz.

Testing the market
If Floyd fights in Cowboy stadium and does as well as Pac attendance maybe they pay MGM to step aside or Jerry Jones ponies up more money because they're guaranteed to sell out Cowboy Stadium if they fight their.....

I remember this one clearly:
-Floyd, why don't you fight and up and coming star like Miguel Cotto.
-Floyd: Well, cuz Miguel Cotto lives in Puerto Rico and we prefer to fight the best from here..

let me ask you a question,
what in floyd's past history indicates to you that Sergio is an opponent that Floyd would consider for this fight? What have you heard about this fight being a possiblity?

Cotto was at the Henry Bruseles fight when Floyd put him out. Bruseles was Cotto's childhood friend and sparring partner who was trained by Evangelista (same as Cotto) AND Cotto was at the Gatti fight with Hatton as next up and guess what? The fight didn't happen. Below says it all........
Cotto wasn't ready in his own weight class when Floyd was just moving up from 135.

I won't beleive it til I see it. It would probably be Cotto, but I would even be surprised to see that. No way does he fight Ortiz, a young dangerous fighter in his prime with power. No way he takes that risk. Ortiz wouldn't necessarily be a tune up and he isn't gonna take a risk in a tune up fight and lose negotiating power with Pacquiao.

Get off my nuts with always saying "You were wrong about Manny so you don't know what you are talking about" While I also made DEAD ON PREDICTIONS as well. IF this Floyd/Cotto fight happens, then come see me and I'll bet 1MIL on it that Floyd humiliates and beats Cotto up.LOL
