One thing I've learned over the years. Never listen to anything Roger says because that man twist **** up lol.
He still thinks Mosley is being blood tested.
He said Pac turned down 100 milion to fight Floyd.
He said Pac was on A side or B side and that people would take that crap and bullets bounced off of them when you tried to shoot them lol.
Believe it when I see it.
Roger said Floyd will take a tuneup fight and then kick Mosley's ass.
Floyd won't fight either Cotto or Ortiz. Cotto won't happen because hes with Top Rank and still lives in Puerto Rico. And GBP isn't gonna throw Ortiz against Floyd because there grooming him to be their biggest cash cow because hes a mexican american who speaks english aka the next Oscar.
And anyone who beats their baby momma and their kids over a text message is a coward straight up. He has a better chance of fighting Malinaggi next or some old lady at the bus stop.
yeah, cotto can punch but he doesn't have the handspeed to give mayweather any problems. mosley and de la hoya could also punch but they didn't have the speed (except for the 2nd rd for mosley) to give mayweather problems. i think those guys hit as hard if not harder than cotto, plus i think they're better boxers than cotto so i don't see why cotto would really be a problem at all for mayweather. sure it'd be a good fight, worth watching but i think mayweather would come away with the clear decision victory. same thing with ortiz. he makes too many mistakes and mayweather would easily exploit those mistakes. i actually think mayweather would stop ortiz in the late rds 'cause ortiz would be so behind in the cards in the late rds, he'd get frustrated, start leaving himself very open and then get caught with big, clean shots.
If Cotto was such a great technician then Margarito would have been easy for him. Cotto cannot be a good technician if he cannot even adjust in mid fight. He has one game plan and that is to get you out of there. Emmanuel Steward is helping him but I don't think it is enough. Maybe before Margarito with Steward, the fight could have been competitive but now? I always said Cotto needed a new trainer for YEARS.
I think his stamina is ****. He was clearly outboxing Margarito, landed cleaner effective punches, and then he just couldn't escaped Margarito's aggressive pressure for the rest of the final rounds. Cotto is a good underrated technician, he's just not as disciplined as Floyd and Marquez are.
At this point wouldn't Floyd fighting Cotto be as bad as whats happening this weekend? Cotto hasn't looked elite in years, surely Floyd would be crucified for fighting someone of that pedigree at this point.
That's exactly what I was thinking. It will be interesting to see some of the guys on here defend Mayweather for fighting Cotto now, after saying Cotto has been "shot" since before Pacquiao fought him.
I, for one, always believed Mayweather would beat Cotto even in his prime and while he was still undefeated. Cottos style, although he's a tough warrior and always dangerous, is made to order for Floyd.
I think Floyd should fight Ortiz if those are his only two options. Not that I believe anything Roger says (Jim or Jerry whats his name? LMAO) but it would be a live fight. I'd rather see Floyd fight Khan though. I think Amir has gotten a little bit too big for his britches at this point.
If he sells them for $20 per ticket as were the tickets for Clottey and Margarito, he definitely will. But if he does that, the live gate will only be $4 or $5 million like Pac/Clottey and Pac/Margarito.
That was a rumor started by Pac haters that his tickets were sold for a mere $20 (because they said Pacquiao fans "couldn't afford it" wtf?). The tickets started at $50 and it was $35 for STANDING ROOM ONLY area. Max Kellerman was interviewed in between rounds at the Pac/Clottey fight in the standing room area and confirms this. Hell, even parking was $50 at that fight.
Pacquiao has not faced any top boxer not coming off the biggest loss of their careers. If Pac is #1, its because boxing is desperate and needs someone active to be the poster boy. He surely isn't the best fighter or boxer.
You become the best by beating the best. Throwing purse amounts in the headlines isn't agreeing to USADA testing up to the day of the fight. Pacquiao and Roach NEVER agreed to testing up to the day. They pretend like they have, but they're still asking for a cut off.
Mayweather gave in to ALL their demands. He said in the post-fight interview of his fight with Mosley "Take the tests and we have a fight. Don't take the tests and we don't have a fight".
How much more plain can you get? The demand is USADA random tests up until the day of the fight. Manny Pacquiao has avoided that like the plague because he knows that if he gets caught, it will destroy anything he's done previously just like it did with Margarito. All his wins would be in question.
If all it takes to fight are random tests up to the fight and hundreds of millions of dollars are on the table, why is the pressure on Mayweather? Mayweather has stated what will seal the deal for him.
THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY ARUM, ROACH AND PACQUIAO WOULD OFFER FLOYD $200 MILLION DOLLARS TO FIGHT WHEN ALL MANNY HAD TO DO WAS TAKE RANDOM TESTS!!!! WHY TRY TO PAY YOUR WAY OUT OF THE USADA TESTS, MANNY? WHY OFFER UP THAT LARGE SUM IF YOU ARE NOT CHEATING? THAT DOESN'T EVEN REQUIRE CONNECTING DOTS.
