NO. NOT EVEN CLOSE. EVEN CHERRY PICKING HE IS DOING THINGS MOST FIGHTERS CAN'T. EVEN CHERRY PICKING HE IS HELPING KEEP THE SPORT ALIVE. EVERYONE WHO SAYS HE IS BAD FOR BOXING, GTFO YOU ARE A F***ING MORON.
If you say he's keeping himself alive, then ill agree with you, but to say he's keeping the sport alive, ill have to disagree with you, sorry dude.

So yes, Pacquiao is helping keep the sport relevant and alive.

An Asian fighter who's managed to grab the imagination of the American public, to the point of being courted by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to his stadium can only be good for the sport. An athlete who projects childlike charisma, while dismantling bigger men in the ring can't be bad for the sport.
All sports need a positive image. Whether you like Manny as a fighter, or whether you dislike his contractual demands makes little difference. His is the story of a dirt-poor child from nowhere, who rose to become a world renowned, fabulously wealthy, superstar athlete. It's the stuff of legend, and people are attracted like moths to a flame. Those very people are being recruited to the boxing masses. By definition, this is good for the sport.

I watch SportsCenter everyday...they only talk about boxing if someone dies, someone gets arrested, a really old fighter retires, other than that it gets a short little 2 minute segment after a huge fight. Boxing is pretty much dead in America.Last edited by Saddlebred; 04-28-2011, 10:41 AM.
