Come on guys yes it was a horrible lost but remember he fought 3 times in a month span.I believe he over train and underestimated the Jap.Like for real he took some shots from Joel Julio and still kept coming forward so I'm not giving up on him easily....yet
Retirement is the best solution for James Kirkland

yeah lose a fight and quit forever. might as well commit suicide while we're at it. paul williams should retire too. and lemieux. and everyone else who got ko'd. no use trying to come back its over. everone in the history of the sport who got ko'd in the first round never ever became successful. never.Comment

Something must have been wrong with James on that night. I mean come on, he was getting hurt and knocked down by jabs. I've seen this guy take some powerful shots by powerful punchers like Joel Julio in the past, and he didn't go down.
These jabs Isida landed and knocked James down with, most of us out of shape NSB posters would have taken them without flinching. That fight is just strange.Comment

he got ktfo ONCE... it happens. he needs to get with a better trainer for dam sure tho and improve his d. thats really about it cause his offense is scary.Anyone else feel this way?
I mean, this guy was overhyped worse than Danny Jacobs and Vic Ortiz (Jacobs KOd by Pirog, Ortiz exposed by Maidana and now has a title but was still exposed by Maidana to begin with).
Who else thinks James Kirkland should retire?
I mean, losing by 1st round KO to Nobuhiro Ishida is god damn embarrassing.
James Kirkland is probably the biggest boxing bust of the last 10 years, and his KO loss to Ishida is one of the worst performances ever in the history of boxing.
"Pathetic" doesn't even come close to capturely how truly bad Kirkland's performance was. Whatever he does for the rest of his career won't matter, as he'll always be remembered as the guy who got KO'd by Ishida.
I really think retirement is the best move for Kirkland.Comment
