I know, I will literally laugh at anybody who picks Pac in this poll. There isn't a fighter from today's era that can approach what Leonard did.

I swear some of these guys know of SRR and SRL in name alone.

      My suggestion; Do your homework.

SRL quality of opposition alone is 10x better then Pac's.

Like a said, there were a lot of great fighters out there for SRL to chose from and if Pac had as much to chose from maybe it would be different but that's not the case.

I think it would be difficult to make a case for Pacquiao when comparing his resume to Leonard. Pacquiao got outboxed and lost to a sliding Morales, and it is my belief that he lost to Marquez on both occasions. When he faces top opposition in the prime of their game, he struggles very badly and/or loses. His biggest wins are over guys who had nothing left and were at the tail ends of their careers and today while he is the face of boxing and being called the p4p king, he is still fighting guys coming off losses, long layoffs, and now an old Shane Mosley who he refused to fight for 2 years after destroyed Margarito but waited until they thought he had finally slipped to a point where Pacquiao could beat him.

That is not what makes a resume great. Beating guys like David Diaz and Margarito for phony titles is not what is greatness.

Manny would struggle/lose to Leonards greatest wins, including Duran, Hearns and Marvin Hagler. Manny hasn't even fought a guy of the caliber of the aforementioned fighters and if he had, he fought them when they were a shell, ie De La Hoya, Shane Mosley.

Do you think SRL could dominate Pacs opponents like Pac did is more fair? Pac is the best today and is more ahead then SRL was of his day. Pac stands more alone today, with no one beside him.

Why do people keep making threads comparing Pacqiauo to people he clearly isn't as great as?

Sugar Ray Leonard is significantly greater than Manny Pacqiauo and it isn't even close.

Ray Leonard fought a lot of great fighters back in the day.

What people need to remember, towards the later years, he had very long periods of inactivity, like Mayweather Jr does now. If you think Floyd is frustrating, you should've been around when Leonard was fighting (or not fighting).

But Leonard was all man. Who else wouldn't fight for 3 years then immediately take on Marvin Hagler without a tune up?

Stop trying to be a salesman and trying to convince yourself. Many pro boxers think Pac is GOAT material. Paul Mallignagi for one thinks it for starters. RJJ said it about 3 fights ago.
Historians think it. I dont know any historian who thinks SRL is.

This thread, is obviously a ******* land mine, which they will gladly step on to make their point that Pac is greater then anyone ever, no matter how little they now about guys like Leonard.

That might have something to do with the fact Sugar Ray Leonards era is 10x better than this era?

If Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler and Roberto Duran were in this era, Manny Pacqiuao wouldn't be standing alone.

Hell, if Wilfred Benitez was in this era Manny Pacqiauo wouldn't be standing alone.

Sugar Ray Leonard beat the much stronger competiton than Manny Pacqiauo, it's not even an argument.
