Victor may or may not have fought Maidana the same way but the only difference this time is that Ortiz won. I watched that fight and Ortiz fought very good for his style. Maybe Pac/Floyd can or can't beat Ortiz down but atleast lets see the fight. Ortiz is the WBC WW champion. Are you saying that Ortiz should just sit on the title like Berto did? I would say. 1 more tough fight for him and if he performs the same or even better than the Berto fight against a someone that is legit and good. Then put him in with Pac or Floyd. I think Floyd would fight him and I wouldn't be mad at him if he did. Ortiz needs all the experience he can get in the ring.

Another thing Floyd has over Pac is the Mosley win at 147. Mosley was ranked #1. Clottey didn't even fight. Clottey stunked up the place and not blaming Pac but come on man. Clottey a good win? What did Clottey do to deserve a Pac fight? He lost all of his big fights with exception to Judah. Pac beat Clottey and more power to him but that win ain't impressive. Baldomir was a better win than that considering Baldomir had the Lineal title but Floyd gets criticized for Baldomir but Clottey is a good win for Pac? Cotto has pop in his punches but that's
about it. Ortiz would probably pressure Cotto and pressure shakes Cotto. Listen, we can all agree to disagree but right now I want to see Ortiz fight another top fighter and then I can see for myself. How will he get better if he avoids the best fighters for the big money fights?

Do you know how many young fighters have beaten older fighters who was considered better than them? Anything pops in boxing. Look what happened when Alexander stepped in the ring with Bradley. He wasn't even ready. Fighters of old fought everyone. Didn't matter how young they were.

Thats the right attitude Vic. Now is the best time for him to step up. People underestimate confidence in sports as a whole but it makes a world of difference. He's a certified champ and taking on any of the 140lbers with a par type showing would significantly affect his confidence. Losing to either of those guys (Mayweather or Pacquiao) wouldnt be anything to be ashamed of. All he has to do is have a good showing against one and it probably opens up another big money fight with the other. Right now he has the most options in boxing. If handled right he will gross in the top three in boxing within a 2yr span.
