Dude the reason why people dont want oritiz to fight pacquaio because he is still green and we dont want to see another young fighter ruined. Really just because Ortiz beat another hypejob(i call it the pirog effect) that it doesnt mean Ortiz is ready for pacquaio. I want ortiz to fight Clottey or even collazo to see if he is ready for the elite of 147 since those 2 are the gatekeepers. and just like the reason nobody want berto to fight pacquaio because dude was trying to get a massive payday without paying his due. It has nothing to do with people protecting pacquaio. The reason people rather watch marquez fight pacquaio, because marquez been chasing pacquaio since the 2nd fight and he actually earned his fight with him. They also have a strong history. But i only would want the fight at 140 and nothing more.

And i bet if pacquaio beats Ortiz, you will not give pacquaio any credit anyway and say he was green.

Dude Berto/Ortiz fight was more competitive and better than all of Pac fights since JMM. Sure Berto was slacking with his talent but dude fought hard too but just couldn't hang with Ortiz but both showed great heart. Ortiz is a WBC champion. Basically people call Berto a hype job for not fighting any real competition but then say that he or Ortiz shouldn't fight Pacquiao because their too green? So when are they supposed to fight Pac? That's why you have suckers like Canelo and Chavez Jr fighting nobodies for all of their careers because they can use that excuse of being too green. How green are Canelo and Chavez Jr? Maybe if Berto would have fought someone like Pac, he would have been ready for more comp. These guys are professional fighters not amateurs, stop making excuses for them. Funny how the Martinez is ducking Pirog, came from Pac fans because he called out Pac but Pac ain't ducking Ortiz? Get out of here with that BULL****!

Berto would have been ready for a fight like that if he rematch Collazo and maybe unified the belts..But fought to his level,and make no mistake he is nowhere near Pac's level..And neither is Ortiz..Chavez and Canelo have no Amateur back round which is why they get away with it..Ortiz and Berto have plenty of Amateur experience and have no excuse for fighting 50 bums..

Ortiz needs to fight up to his level same as Berto needed too(and still needs to more then ever)Pac is not that level..I say take two fights against good opponents to see where ya at and what ya can fix..If he goes in there to fight Pac right now the Maidana fight won't have nothing on the azz kicking he get's from Pac..

He did the same thing vs Maidana but ended up quitting..Do you know why??He had more of a relentless fighter in front of him who was matching him punch for punch(same with Peterson)..I told you before Berto was a good win for Ortiz but let's not over do it..Berto was laying on the ropes holding and just trying to land one big punch..Maidana was throwing in Combination(same as Pac would but much more accurate)and landing on Ortiz almost at will..Ortiz has really bad defense..what I'm saying is based on that fight and watching his fights before this one,I believe he needs a few more fights..This could all be smoking mirrors like I said before,Berto is a very flawed fighter my dude(very Flawed)Ortiz should see how he fares against some of the other WW's before taking on a beast like Pac imo..

EXACTLY it ain't about how green Ortiz is because none of these posters talking that nonsense care about him in anyway. I believe the fact that he won in such a dominate fashion has all of these people saying Pac would demolish him. Pac ain't fight a young, hungry, fighter/champion in how long? Making Pac out to be so great when he is not even fighting dominate fighters or winners. I'm sick of some of you coming on here protecting Pac. I always here Floyd should fight Paul Williams or Martinez but Pac is too small for them? Martinez should stop ducking Pirog when clearly he is not even in Martinez's league but Sergio is ducking him? Ortiz wins big against an undefeated champion and all of a sudden he ain't ready for Pac? Pac hasn't fought anyone that people thought was good enough to hang with him in a long time. Call me optimistic or just plain dumb for believing the hype around Pac fights. Ortiz would probably put up a better fight than any of the other fighters Pac fought, put up. All of a sudden Pac is too good or small for him? So if a guy like Mosley can't hang with Pac and Ortiz can't hang with Pac, then who is there left to fight? You've said ATLEAST 10 times in this thread alone that Manny doesn't fight guys who are "young, hungry, champion coming off a dominate wins"... but please tell me when was the last time Floyd Mayweather fought someone "young, hungry, champion coming off a dominate win? Please don't say Hatton. ODLH, Marquez? Nope. And you can't say Mosely either because he wasn't young and hungry. See how that works? You can't hardly find a champion today that fits that critiera. It's obvious your dislike for "Pac fans" fuels your desire to discredit Manny Pacquiao. Whenever someone criticizes another fighter you always label them as Pac fans. Just because Oritiz had a great showing against a guy, who alot of people believed was unproven and undeserving of the status he was being given, doesn't mean that he is automatically the #1 threat against a guy of Pacquiaos caliber. Two flawed guys went at it and knocked each other down a couple of times in a tough fight, and automatically the winner is good enough to be 'the next guy to beat Manny Pacquiao'? I still don't really understand how Ortiz is considered #3 welter weight after having one fight at the weight and beating a guy that shouldn't have been that high on the list in the first place. It's not like Victor was dominate in any rankings before that fight, why after one fight at WW should he be listed anywhere in the top of the list @WW AT THIS TIME?

I think Victor is good and he has a great chance of working his way up to be even better, but to say he is #3 @ WW at this time and to think he could beat the likes of Cotto, Mosely, hell even Paul Williams AT THIS TIME seems a bit premature. Some people seem to be forgetting there are still a lot of good welter weights out there that aren't appreciated enough. AND some great up and comers that are as good or on par with where Victor Ortiz is now.

Well said.. Ortiz is a good fighter.. but his win was against an overhyped Berto. Any one of Pacs past opponents (Clottey/Cotto/Marg) would IMO beat either Ortiz/Berto. Both of them gave a great show to the fans but at the same time displayed bigtime FLAWS (resulting in multiple KD's). People say Manny has no defense.. I tend to laugh because he hasn't been legitimately knocked down in a looonngg time.

I hope Manny takes on Ortiz though just to hear the excuses from supposed 'fans' on BS. And once Manny make Ortiz look like a come forward/plodder/face first/no defense fighter it'll be onto the next 'cherrypick' since Floyd is still not thinking about boxing (even though he was at the ortiz/berto fight )
