So then why does a win over a fighter you your self said was comfortable make you believe that now he is ready for Pac??Pac is a ***in beast dude,I know you may not like him but you have to see if he was in there with Pac it would be worst then the Maidana fight for him at this point..TBH I don't even think he should get in there with Cotto..Let alone a May or a Pac..You not beating top guy's with no Jab sorry won't happen..Peterson's jab was a big reason he fought to a draw with Ortiz(I had Peterson winning that fight I might add)..What do you think Pac is going to do to him??Comment

I have news for all of you geniuses who thinks Mayweather is interested in fighting Ortiz.
Zab Judah and Chop Chop Corley. Zab knocked Floyd down in the 2nd round. Corley had Floyd almost out on his feet when they fought. What do they have in common? They're both lefties.
The fact is, Floyd has a dismal record against southpaws. Which is why in an interview before the Pacquiao-Hatton fight, Floyd Sr. advised him to avoid southpaws. Perfectly logical since his Philly-shell defense is not effective against southpaws.
Ortiz is faster, stronger, a lot younger and better- conditioned than Judah and Corley, and he throws punches in bunches and most of all he is a southpaw.
Now, do you think Mayweather wants to fight someone this dangerous?
If he wanted to fight Ortiz, he would have climbed atop the ring after the fight or would have challenged him during the post-fight press conference. The fact that he disappeared immediately after the fight and before the announcement of the winner says a lot about his intentions.
For the same reasons above, Mayweather asks for OST and 100 million to fight Pacquiao.
Conclusion? He ain't fighting Pacquiao.Comment

Wow first Berto now Ortiz, jeez who will be the next Hype Job??Ortiz is not ready for Pac..He can't match him with speed,he does not posses any real boxing ability(dude throws one Jab a rd)..Pac would murder this kid and shorten his career what don't you guy's get??Ortiz should fight other young fighters that he can hone his skill against..Pac and or Mayweather abuse him,Pac physical and Mayweather Mentally..
FACT: Even if you are correct, and I do not think that you are, that fight should happen because there is no more deserving opponent for Pacquiao or Mayweather than the #3 welter Ortiz.
According to Arum Berto was ready, so CLEARLY Ortiz is qualifed.
If you disagree, then name the opponent who is more qualified than Ortiz.
The funny thing is, this fight simply will not happen.
The trend that began in June 2008, will continue until Mayweather.
Ortiz does not fit the template to fight Pac, I think you know what I mean.
Ortiz is prime, and he is on top of his game.Comment

But every single Pacquaio opponent, has hit him with their best shot.
Come on man, Diaz was in a better position than Ortiz is in right now ?
Hatton was in a better position that Ortiz is in right now ?
Clottey was in a better position than Ortiz is in right now ?
Margarito was in a better position than Ortiz is in right now ?
Mosley was in a better position than Ortiz is in right now ?
If you truly believe that those guys were in a better position than Ortiz is now, then you just shredded Pac's recent resume'.Comment

Maybe Pac would or would not whup Ortiz but that is yet to be seen. Pac won't fight him anyway. He is not a Top Rank fighter. I think that the fight would be a good one. Berto hit Ortiz with the hammer in the 6th round and he still knocked Berto down. Pac is more seasoned for sure but homie been fighting against wounded guys. Put someone hungry in the ring with him then we will see a fight for sure.
People can always find flaws or ways to discredit certain fighters, either by using age or experience or level of competition or any number of ways. I just can't see many people who are going to make it even a tough fight for Pac right now (especially since Mayweather is out of the mix) anywhere near 130-154 pounds. Cotto is not a shot fighter, I don't care what anyone says and Margs is a big, tough guy who can beat most competition. Clottey had never clammed up like he did against Pac and he even said that Pac hits far harder and is far faster than what people seem to think he is. Maybe Ortiz can give him a run but what I see is Pac's movement and STRAIGHT combination punching. He punches straighter than almost any boxer and he is able to do so while maintaining power and speed as well as dance around all at the same time.
Most boxers have a standard approach to fighting...lead foot, 30 degree angle or whatever it is between the legs and they turn their upper body into their punches as they punch for power. Pac squares his body up when punching but he is so fast that you have to eat at least half of the punches in order to land one yourself. He can concentrate his punches is a very small area in a very short time and is extremely accurate. Ortiz has a more standard style which is going to leave him open up the middle where Pac throws 90% of his punches.
That is why Pac makes guys look mediocre in the ring against him when they otherwise are top caliber fighters.Comment

Listen man, I know Pac is a good fighter but he is fighting the same style fighters for the longest. Let me see him up against something diiferent before I make a definite assessment. Pac does not commit to a jab either and he's wide open for counter punches and power shots. I can see Pac beating Ortiz mentally due to his experience though. Ortiz beats Cotto on will power alone. The way Ortiz was pressuring Berto. Cotto would not like that. Plus Cotto abandons his jab to slug out. Anyone can win on any given night. I see a fight with Ortiz/Pac being another slug fest.
Also Cotto has a very good jab and timing,he beats Ortiz and most likely stops him..I told you ya not beating a top notch fighter like Cotto with no Jab..Cotto is not Berto and I'm not sold on this kid,let him fight some young guns..I would esp like Jones Ortiz then we will see what's what..Comment

I wouldn't mind seeing the fight. Idk why everyone else is talking so much ****. I don't think he can beat Pacquiao but their both champs at 147. Would be a good sluggfest for how ever long the last.Comment
