Is it baseless to say that HBO offered Pac and JMM 50/50 split on $1.5 mil for an immediate rematch of their first fight and Marquez wanted the whole pot for himself and then turned around to fight/lose to Chris John in Indonesia for $30K.

Is it baseless to say Marquez was offered a Pacquiao fight when the original Pac-Floyd talks broke down and he wanted a 50/50 split and OST (aka thinking he had the same bargaining chips as Floyd)?

Is it baseless to say he was all over the place saying he wanted Manny and then when Arum said 'come get you some. You're next' he's taking a fraction of what he would've/could've made and going to fight Zab Judah or Robert Guerrero?

      C'mon Son
It only makes sense that didn't take the immediate rematch and went to Indonesia to better position himself for negations of the rematch. Obviously it blowup in his face but that's being a bad business man not anything else.

It was gbp that demanded the ost to stay consistent with what Floyd demanded and jmm was upset that gbp put that as part of the terms. And I'm not positive but I was pretty sure jmm didn't want a 50/50 split but did want a guarantee that arum felt was too high. Either way to suggest jmm was scared ducked or didn't want the fight is baseless and just plain ******. Right or wrong he just wanted what he felt was deserved. It was a great series of fights the trilogy IMO is expired and I'm glad jmm can walk away from it and continue to add to his great legacy. I'm also glad he's not going to have to end his career as arums slave and pawn.

For a really long time. I think because as a fan of an individual big name boxer, you'll only seem him fight 2-3 times a year. So people will pay for the "tune-up" fights, especially if HBO or Showtime can give it a clever storyline.

Think of all the people that didn't watch Douglas V Tyson. Cause on paper it looked like a 45second fight. (Before DVR, so when you didn't watch a fight, you committed to not seeing it)

That thought that "It could be a huge upset" haunts the minds of many fans.

So they pay and they watch...

Man Floyd fights and beats a southpaw tune up(ORTIZ).
          Manny beats Mosley.
Hello, lets get the the damn fight on between Mayweather and Pacquaio after that.

**** ,both fighters are not getting any younger so how much longer do we have to wait?
I don't wanna see May and Pac damn near 40 trying to fight.(Hopkins/Jones)

                Good for Marquez

                Good

Marquez does not belong at 147 that is not to say that I don't believe in him but after the Mayweather fiasco let's just say that I don't feel too comfortable for him to fight at that weight division.

Either way a fight against, Judah, Guerrero, or some one else between 135 to 140 pounds is the best bet for Juan Manuel Marquez as well as that elusive fourth title in a diffrent weight division.

Morales,Soto, or maybe even Brandon Rios would be awesome as well.

                Arum what can I say?

I think JMM is the greatest fighter that has screwed himself out of the most money. All he had to do was be independent for one fight, get the paycheck, and then go back to GBP. Guerrero and Judah level fights are always going to be there. (And he could have signed with TR for one extra, like SSM, and fought Rios.)

The fact is that he probably won't make as much as money during the rest of his career as he would have made from one fight with Pacquiao. Arum is a complete ******* but at some point you have to do what is best for yourself. (Would Shane have been better off staying with GBP and fighting Ortiz?)

I'm glad to see JMM resigned with GBP. I would love to see him vs. Guerrero.

I think this decision ultimately makes Bradley decision, as to which promotional company to sign with, a little easier. With the upset of Berto this past weekend and JMM resigning with GBP, I think it's safe to say Bradley is in the driver seat for a Pac fight this fall, if he can get past Khan in July.

It's sad to think that a promotional company dictates who you can and can't get in the ring with, but unforunately for boxing fans that's the way it is with Arum/Top Rank nowadays .
