No Flame.....just curious.....Have you changed your mind about V. Ortiz Heart?

Interestingly enough I've noticed that all those "haters" that were saying Ortiz had no heart after the Maidana fight and that he was not built mentally for this game etc etc.....have been rather quiet after this past weekend.......

those of us who have been on Vic's corner from the get go could easily say "I told you so" but that's not here nor there.....

The real question is......have you changed your mind about Vic-O after his performance vs Berto?

No doubt. I said the kid has to redeem himself. You cannot say the things he said after the Maidana fight and not expect people to criticize him the way they did.

I think this fight could not have gone better. If he just came out and KO's Berto in the first round, then I think people would have just said Berto was a bum etc...

The fact it was a war and there were multiple knock downs and Ortiz showed the heart of a warrior, was the best thing for his image as a fighter.

Ortiz shocked me, he showed heart of a true Mexican and beat Berto up.

He showed great heart against Berto and I have to give it to him.

I wonder how much quit is still in him. Maybe the Maidana loss changed something in his will?

Ignore the bandwagon jumpers man, you know how people respond on the internet, if someone stops they have no heart, get ko'ed they have a glass jaw, etc etc.
I was seriously impressed with Ortiz though, i still rate Berto and that isnt me trying to hype the win for Ortiz. Victor he just came in with the "world champion" mentality, showed true heart, skill, defense..everything man..its nice to see some new blood in the welter division.

in a way yes. he got rocked by berto several times and KD once. but still i think berto didn't brawl or pressured ortiz like maidana did. he mostly laid on the ropes after the first round and was just looking for a haymaker. it changed my mind, but i still want to see him in a more pressure fight.

No, while he showed great heart and determination against Berto...I can't straight up say he has heart, I'll need more time before I can say that.

I wouldn't say Change, but I would say improved. Ortiz looks better as a welter, but He also picked on the weakest welter champion. I don't see him beating the likes of Mosley, Mayweather, Pacquiao and He will have 50/50 against guys like Cintron, Collazo, Quintana or any hard punching welter.

I don't like him....and wanted Berto to win the fight. I had changed my mind around the middle of the fight. I'm a fan now.

yes I did, that fight leaves me with two questions:

                  1) Was it just a one time thing because he was so motivated?
                  2) Was he fighting the wrong weight the whole time because he was gigantic for a WW?

Mostly, not completely. There is no questioning the heart Ortiz showed in getting up from two knockdowns and scoring one of his own while recovering from the second. However, he did the same thing against Maidana. The difference is that Berto let Ortiz get back into his comfort zone after both of his knockdowns. I still wonder how Ortiz would react if faced with someone who never gave him a moment to breathe like Maidana didn't allow. He would probably be just fine, but I still have that thought in the back of my head.
