I disagree, Marquez is getting on a bit and to move up 2 divisions which involves putting on weight and totally changing your conditioning training is too much, if the Mayweather fight didn't show that then I don't know what will. I want to see this fight but only if it's at 140 as I feel that is more of a level playing field, I know it won't happen as Pac calls the shots but WW is just too big for Marquez whereas Pacquiao is now a comfortable WW.

Agree with this post. Marquez lost every single round against Mayweather, plenty of other boxers have done better against him. Way better.

Marquez would not have the speed, the reflexes, and the punching power that allowed him to barely curtail Pacquiao at 126 and 130. It's common sense that a bigger, stronger, and better Pacquiao would beat the hell out of an older, slower, weaker Marquez. Maidana-Morales literally has nothing to do with a current day Pacquiao-Marquez fight.

Like seriously? Why are people still saying that EVEN AFTER MAIDANA-MORALES? People are trippin', STYLES MAKE FIGHTS!!! Yeah Morales is a blown up featherweight but Maidana's style played in perfectly for Morales to stay in the fight. He's a good counterpuncher and Maidana's too damn wild and his punching power is not as good as we all expected.

If you think weight was the only reason Marquez got schooled by Mayweather then you should really work on your boxing knowledge. Marquez & Mayweather are both counterpunchers. Marquez does best when fighters bring the fight to him. Mayweather is too fast and would never bring the fight to somebody else. Thats why I think he would beat Pac.

No matter how many fights they have or at what weight MARQUEZ WILL ALWAYS GIVE PAC HELL!!! It's just the style. I think a 3rd fight should happen if Floyd won't fight him in November. It makes sense. Marquez keeps winning and took Pac to hell in those 2 fights and arguably won them.

i think the weight was a massive issue for JMM against mayweather. if a guy is on or above your skill level aswell as considerably bigger its always gonna be tough.

regarding JMM vs pac at 147, there fight night weights will be very similar so its not like marquez is facing some1 who is alot bigger than him.

Yeah, but Marquez won't be able to do the things he did so well the first two times as effectively now, especially at 147 against a bigger stronger and better Pacquiao. Marquez isn't that same guy, and Pacquiao isn't the same Pacquiao from the last fight either.

Be honest people, if Juan Diaz and Michael Katsidis give Marquez a war what do you honestly think Pacquiao would do against a Marquez at least one division higher?

Marquez doesn't belong above 135 and that's all there is to it. Atleast not against Elite fighters.

Pacqiuao is bigger and stronger at 147 Marquez at 147 is slower, weaker, older. It would be a massacre, man.

Unless Pac is willing to go back down to 135, which really I don't see why he should, then this fight shouldn't happen.

As for Pacqiuao's 'improvments' since 2008. It's a myth, I don't see any.

Yes styles make fight...but marquez would be alot slower at 147 to the point he wouldn't be fast enough to counter pacquaio anymore. The reason people mention the floyd fight because the combination of the added weight plus floyd speed made marquez super slow motion in that fight.
