"Andre Berto is a slick African American fighter who Manny is ducking"

People are gonna hate regardless. FWIW I've always said this:
Manny vs Mosley D
Manny vs JMM D-
Manny vs Berto D-
Thats how I grade all three of those match ups, and Pacquiao gets nothing from me by beating any of those guys.
I'd much rather him fight Floyd or try his luck with Martinez, but if he insist on fighting at 147, although he is done, Mosley is the better option, IMO, outta the three.Comment

Exactly
I see a Hatton type knockout if Pac would have ever fought Berto. To justify the fight based on rankings, his undefeated status, and free belt is absurd. ****k all that.Comment

To be fair the one looking like shit though, in the last year, had been Mosley not Berto.
Bro, we have been on the same side of the argument of the whole Floyd vs Margarito fight in 2006. Just because Marg went on to lose to a prospect. Does not mean that Floyd-Margarito shouldn't have happen. Because, we know damn well it should have.
We heard the same argument, from Floyd fans, laughing at Marg losing or saying that Marg wasn't shit to slow blah blah blah. You know how those faggots get. But, now it's crazy to me that some Pac fans are being just like Floyd fans when it came to Marg. Laughing that Berto lost, saying that Berto wasn't shit blah blah blah.
Fact is that Berto was a title holder, undefeated, and a top 3 WW. Only behind Floyd and Pac FFS's. Pac should have fought him. Mosley has won one fight at WW in the last 3 years.Comment

A title holder who had not fought any legit 147 fighters, since he fought Collazo, which only reinforces my comparison to Chavez who is unproven as well. He was given the #3 spot; he didn't earn it.
He simply was, nor is a legit threat for Pac despite of the external factors, and reasoning many would like to emphasize; And Ortiz showed why, as he exposed his visible flaws, and took it to him. Berto wouldn't make it to the 7th round against Pac. And i'm giving him the 6th, as generosity. He's simply not on Pac's level, which is why Pac didn't miss out on anything, nor did we as fans.I'm not going to disagree with these statements. However, the fight should have happen. Fights are won in the ring not on paper. Berto was a legit deserving challenger to Pac. Not Mosley, not Marg but Berto was.
You being sure that this fight will still happen now, is quite sad. It just shows what team Pac true intentions are in taking risk in the ring. They don't want to. Because, this fight means nothing now.Comment

IN WHAT WORLD IS OK TO FIGHT A GUY WHO ONLY HAS ONE ****ING WIN IN THE DIVISION IN THE LAST 3 MUTHA****ING OVER AN UNDEFEATED TOP 3 TITLE HOLDER?
REALLY, IN WHAT WORLD IS THAT OK?
ONE WIN AT WW IN THE LAST 3 YEARS? AND, THIS SUPPOSE TO BE ACCEPTABLE AS A LEGIT CHALLENGE OVER AN UNDEFEATED TOP 3 TITLE HOLDER?
REALLY?
I can't believe what I am reading smh.Comment

Sorry man....I'm not in favor of Berto getting a big payday as he represents everything that is wrong with the sport. Fighters like him are what really make the sport turn in a negative direction because the message it sends is this; "I [insert fighters name] can go out steal a bunch of money, fight bums because of HBO and Haymon backing and back door my way to a title shot against one of the biggest name in boxing".To be fair the one looking like shit though, in the last year, had been Mosley not Berto.

Fvkk all of that, and I really don't feel sorry for Berto as he has had his chance to face big names but turned them down.
Even though Mosley has loss, at least he has attempted to be great and has taken on fighters know one else wanted to face. He fought Vernon when no one wanted to, Winky when no one wanted to and even when for guys like Margarito when people thought he was crazy for taking such a fight.
I think the fight is ****, but so would the Berto fight, unless you just like giving props because it looks good on paper.
To keep it real the only fights I wanna see Manny take on are Martinez or Floyd. That might be reaching but tbh those are the only fights that do anything for him career wise.
Beating Berto does squat as a fight with Floyd will be for the lineal and Ring belt anyways. All Berto did was bring an Alphabelt title he clearly had no business winning, and a Al Haymon/Kerry Davis/HBO hyped up recored that meant **** cuz he really hasn't fought anyone.Comment

Pac is only fighting for Money now. Thus, it should not have happened.I'm not going to disagree with these statements. However, the fight should have happen. Fights are won in the ring not on paper. Berto was a legit deserving challenger to Pac. Not Mosley, not Marg but Berto was.

I wasn't in favor of Mosley, or Marg, but to say Berto is more deserving then them of fighting pac is disrespectful to what they have done in boxing, as opposed to Berto who hasn't done ****. Nevertheless, I understand the emphasis of your argument, yet I don't agree with it.
A belt doesn't mean **** to me. I know who the "real" champions are, and I am aware of who the top dawgs are. Belts these days are given like nothing, such as Alvarez being handed one. Berto being undefeated doesn't mean **** either. He didn't fight anybody worthy of a challenge with the exception of Collazo who was in 2009. Chavez jr is undefeated to. It doesn't mean ****. His ranking doesn't mean **** either. Rankings are handed for free most times just like belts; either that or they are bought.
However, all of this on paper does seem solid in terms of Berto being a legit challenger for Pac before Ortiz beat him. Nevertheless, a paper doesn't mean ****, as you stated. Fights aren't only fought in the ring. They are earned in the ring. Sadly, that is not the case all the time.Comment

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, now it's an ethical stance against Berto getting a payday. OK.
