Homie, youre missing my point..
Its not about resumes or who fought who.. Both Oscar and Sugar Shane were really, really good.
Look at it this way, resumes EXCLUDED, compare Ortiz and Sugar Shane, in terms of them moving up in weight and beating the champion in that higher weight division. Based off of YOUR logic, Berto was overrated because he lost to an unranked 147lb'er. So far, so good..
Now, Sugar Shane wasnt ranked at 147 AT ALL (he relinquished his lightweight titles to move up 17 lbs) but he moved up to 147 and BEAT De La Hoya.
Here is the parallelism between Mosely and Ortiz: Ortiz was/is ranked as TOP 10 140lb, who moved up in weight (to 147lbs) and beat the current champion (Berto). Sugar Shane was a top ranked 130lb fighter who moved up in weight and beat the then-current champion (Oscar)
Based off of your logic of Berto being overrated because he lost to an unranked 147lb'er, Oscar, in essence, (and once again based off of your logic) is overrated as well because he lost to an unranked 147lb Mosely.. There is NO difference between Ortiz and Mosley in terms of both fighters moving up in weight and beating the current champion..
In other words, If you dont consider De La Hoya overrated for losing to Sugar Shane, a former lightweight, then how can you consider Berto overrated for losing to Ortiz, a former light welter?

I think Berto that lost to Ortiz is not a hype-job. Maybe the previous Berto. The guy have been knockdown but survived the 12 rounds, he even retaliate unfortunately he got reckless. Hype-job example for me is like Alexander. Never knockdown and a little headbutt make him can't see then quit.

At the end of the day you will always use resume to find out a hype,it will always be about who ya fought(or did not fight)just the way it is and that is my logic..Where all this other stuff ya talking about came from I don't know sorry if that's the way it came across..Last edited by Rome-By-Ko; 04-17-2011, 11:43 AM.

The difference between me and you is i can see from both side because i dont like Berto and i dont care for Mosley neither, But you're a Mosley fan so obviously you would act like a girl whenever it involves Mosley so i do understand.Originally posted by Ray* View PostAgain find me a post where i think Berto should fight Pac first over Mosley, I didnt think the fight was a bad idea to be honest but i think Pac destroyed Berto and am sure while you were searching for that 400M post you would come across at least 3-4 post of mine which i pointed out how Pac would destroy Berto.
I dont give Mosley is due how? Because i said he deserve to share 50-50 with Berto? Berto makes more money fighting bums on HBO than Mosley makes fighting the same bum.. This isnt disrespectful to shane its called Market-Value.

I agree with KoKing and the other lad who brought comparisons to DLH and Shane Mosley. I dnt see how knocking down Ortiz twice and losing a good exciting fight to a clearly good fighter constitutes to Berto being "exposed"
I've kept a close eye on romebyko and he clearly has a bias towards coloured fighters. His posts clearly contradict events that have happend in history with other fighters.

You're actually backing up the very arguement that you're trying to prove he is wrong in saying. Because Berto makes more money fighting BUMs (TRUE DEFINITION OF A HBO HYPE JOB) then Mosely does, he should make 50/50 fighting a HOF who actually fought his way up through the ranks fighting tough competition??? Surely you see how ridiculous that sounds?
