Why do Mexicans and Puerto Ricans hate each other?

I know they are rivals in boxing, but is that the reason they hate each other or is it something else? Also when did this begin, and if it was because of boxing what were the fights that started all the hate towards each other. I am a fan of a lot of fighters from both countries so I am neutral in all this.

don't let this boxing rivalry fool you because thats all it is, a boxing rivalry. outside of boxing there really isn't that much hate at all. mexicans definitely hate blacks more than anyone. yes there is some hate that ricans get by mexicans and all other latins because of our rights to u.s. citizenship but its not all that serious. there's absolutely no real reason for a rican to hate on a mexican or any other latin though, ricans got it made in the u.s.

I think Mexicans hate Puerto Ricans and Blacks because of their fighting styles. Both Puerto Ricans and Blacks are known to be boxers, moving around and what not, whereas Mexicans are considered brawlers. Therefore, boxers are seen as cowards if they don't stand and fight.

Mexicans also hate Puerto Ricans because they are ****.

Maybe in the US, it's a whole different thing since PRcan's and Mexicans may be competing for jobs, etc.

But I can speak from people here in the mainland, it's all about boxing in here. Dominicans on the other hand face severe discrimination here and you may say they're hated.

This is true.. African American blacks are nothing like the Latino blacks that I've met.. Latino blacks are no different then me when we speak.. There part of us.

People tend to confuse this.....that because we are all black...we somehow act the same and share the same thoughts because we are the same colour....

I also met someone from there through my cousin and yes I heard the same case.

To be fair he also did say they seemed to be big boxing fans. I think he said when Pacquiao fought De La Hoya all the Puerto Ricans would come in chanting Pacquiao and the MExicans would get pissed. Not sure if thats the case though since I know some Mexicans resent De La Hoya and some Mexican fans love Pacquiao. Either way he told me those guys used to talk **** back and forth to each other all the time.

I love when ****s talk **** over the computer I have yet to meet a Mexican who talked to me like you ****** talk over the internet and i know plenty of Mexicans.
