If Cotto couldn't keep Margarito off him after constantly connecting, how can floyd?

I think respectable counters and holding as much as he can. I think he could hold him off and use a few tactics that can favour him mentality wise

What a ****** thread, Margarito is way to slow to even make Floyd feel uncomfortable in there. Floyd beats him in a near shut out in a very boring and uneventful fight, just look at the match up it would almost look like Mayweather-Baldy II. And the thing is, Floyd hits a lot harder than people give him credit for.

I also don't think Cotto was landing his shots as hard as he could have, he wasn't sitting down on them and was throwing his shots while moving backwards. He wasn't getting full leverage and he wasn't clinching. Cotto fought a very ****** fight, might have been because Margarito was loaded and Cotto was feeling some heavy punches but that's another discussion.

the margarito that fought cotto would have beaten all the welterweights going at that time. i think he did him dirty though. ok he took some punches but tony has a great chin and after 6 rds of pounding cotto with bricks, miguels punches lost its pop.

I wish we knew. That fight would have brought out the truth in floyd.

everyone can speculate, but a real mother***a that don't just talk about it, but be's about it would have taken that challenge. My prob is when a dude 2 weight classes cAlls out Floyd, he fights him cuz he got called out. Margs was calling his shi t out all day every day. And margs was widely viewed as a beast and the best at ww at that time

Anyone think someone like Toney wouldn't have fought margs then? Or winky, or cotto (obviously) or Shane, or Sergio, or jmm, or katsidas... I mean, enough with the "who woulda won" bullsh it. It don't matter. We know one dude has excuses, and the other dude fought everyone at 147 to at least try and be great.

floyd would have been that n*gga if he would have fought and beat tony when the public wanted it. then gone and beat cotto, retired. and then came back and fought pacquiao.

if floyd did that, he'd probably be my favorite current fighter

Please dont ever compare Cotto to Mayweather. Floyd would undress Tony.

Jab to the belly. Right over the top. Rinse repeat.
