Margs may have had a chance against the pre JMM version of Floyd when he was still coming into the ring at 147 pounds or so but no way he has any chance against a more filled out version of Floyd. He cant bully this guy who is a good 5-10 pounds heavier then before. The skill level is so far apart, the smarts are so far apart, the defense is so far apart, the speed is so far apart, that Tony has no chance at all. This is actually insulting after you saw what Mosley & Pac did to him

If Cotto couldn't keep Margarito off him after constantly connecting, how can floyd?

2 Huge differences.
1. Margarito isn't fast enough to catch Floyd.
2. Floyd doesn't get tired.
It's gonna be stick and move for 12 rounds of clean accurate punches, and out of the way before Margarito can react.
Cotto was boxing Marg's ears off in the beginning rounds until Cotto tired out and stopped moving.... Floyd will not get tired, and will not stop moving until the fights over.

7 losses and a miserable resume are u kidding me dude? Get your damn facts str8. Besides the Cotto fight (which doesn't count because he cheated) Margs hasn't beaten anyone..literally..his resume is a joke..complete joke. Clottey? Cintron? Martinez 100 years ago? Get your mind right man.

Then you add to the fact that when Margs catches him, then what? Floyd's D is so on point now that a righty is not going to land clean on him. Margs slow wide punches. Floyd just stays in the pocket when he wants and Margs hits nothing but arms if that and Floyd counters with sharp, head snapping blows.
Dont get me twisted. I know boxing and I was the only Floyd fan saying that I think Floyd basically did duck Margarito if thats what you want to call it but I was ok with it. Im not one of those guys who think guys should fight everyone no matter what. I think Floyd and his team felt that Floyd was basically a 140 pounder who could still maybe even fight at LW. He just moved up too fast to chase that Oscar fight.
Therefore I think they felt that he could win but could also possibly lose and Floyd wouldve never forgiven himself if he wouldve lost to someone inferior like Margarito just because he wasnt big enough because thats what it really is. He's not anywhere near Floyd in any way so its only because Floyd was coming in at 146 at the time and Margs was a big huge natural WW in his 1st division.
Thats why I say to this day that if this version of Floyd who is now a nice size WW was that size back then, it wouldve been a fight. He wouldve takened that and the Cotto fight but they just didnt trust his size back then. Even if he won he wouldve had to run & pot shot the whole fight. He wouldnt have to do that now with the added size. That changes everything.
I always say that ofcourse Margs & Cotto dont fear Floyd. Why should they when they know they can make by far there biggest payday ever, beat the #1P4P guy, and fight a guy who they know is much smaller & weaker then them but they will still be given mad credit. It was all win/win for them and all those big WW's at the time would openly say that Floyd is too small for them. Thats just not the case no more
