  • Close fight that could've gone either way, certainly not a robbery. Daggum's hyperbole "Calzaghe missed 99% of his punches" doesn't really help his case, but at least he's kept his sense of humor.

Also funny how the TS has so much criticism for the two judges that scored it for Calzaghe, but none for the other, who scored it for BHOP by ONE point.

I found the flash knockdown a bit dubious as well, Hopkins bum rushed him. Caught him with a good shot, but Joe wouldn't have gone down without the tackle.

not to mention Eubank at that point in his career had questionable decisions over guys like Ray Close and Henry Wharton(from what Ive heard from British fans that followed his career, havent seen the fights myself).
I had assumed this was common knowledge. I guess not.

      • The Calzaghe Deception sounds like a Tom Clancy book.

Do you mean when he was nearly behind him and reached around and tapped his "tummy"?? Right on the belt line, although Hopkins went down.

hopkins clearly states in the post fight that his junk got knocked out of his cup.

but hey dont let things like that get in your way. LOL@hopkins going down from that "body shot". Joe's fans are mentally unstable.

You might be the greatest hater I've ever seen

I mean Hater in the Silky Johnson sense more than the *****/******* sense...

eubank was so finished i can't believe some people are trying to rewrite history. let's look at his title fights before fighting calzaghe.

ray close 1-should have lost a close fight
nigel benn-should have lost a close fight
rochigiani-close fight lots scored it for rochigiani
ray close 2-should have lost a close fight
                costa-clearly lost
                storey-knockout win
                schommer-clearly lost
wharton-close fight some people scored it for wharton
collins 1-lost in a close fight
                collins2-dominated

wow what a dominate fighter indeed. he only clearly won 1 out of his last 10 fights. some fights were close enough to give to him but he probably should have lost the majority of them. and calzaghe beating eubank coming out of retirement is a great win?

Naah you have it the wrong way around, he isn't a "simple hater", ...Simple -yes, but a hater??? Naaah. He is the other one.

watch it again. but this time use your brain! you can see calzaghe is clearly going down but his right arm is hooked around hopkins head. hopkins shrugs calzaghe's arm off of him and down goes calzaghe!

Calzaghe chased bhop around for years before he got the fight. It's not his fault everyone ducked him openly.

I'm sure you're fine with bhop and RJJ fighting all those cans ( especially RJJ. Vinnie paz? LOL )
                      Do you remember Hopkins and Morrade Hakaar....amongst others nearly as bad. {Hopkins' name should have been changed adfter this travesty to "Hokins"}

The Hakaar "fight" was much worse than ANYTHING perpetrated by Jones. At least Jones, no matter HOW good his opponents were, and some were VERY good, made them ALL look like beginners he was so superior.

Hopkins was never in the same class as Jones. Not even nearly.
