has there ever been a p4p #1 who fights unranked contenders the whole time?

Mayweather has fought nothing but top ten fighters, outside Bruseles and the older Sharmba, over the last ten years or so unless fighting someone moving up. When he's done that, it's been to face a marginal top ten guy at 30 (N'Dou) and two reigning lineal World Champs (135- Marquez; 140 - Hatton).

Saying they could fight someone else tougher than they have on occasion is fine. To say either is not fighting top ten guys, as the thread starter and one respondent did, is ******. I know that's the point on a lot of these threads but impressionable minds can read this horesh*& and actually think its true.
    end thread..green k

              But, he's still ranked there.

              So he's not top 3, he's #4.

floyd was signed to fight judah before judah loss and baldo was the WW and lineal champ.

                  you lose

yeah floyd was signed to fight judah but then judah lost to a journeyman. i guess losing to a journeyman doesn't change anything?

if you remember(which you don't) the floyd-judah contract was only legit if judah beat baldomir. he did not so the contract was voided. floyd being the nice guy that he was redid the contract so he would get more money and the fight was reborn! yay!

Yea it wasn't signed, it was just agreed on it. Floyd could have fought somebody else. He didn't have to go through the Judah fight. Hence why Floyd was looking for a potential Spinks fight after Judah lost.
