Mayweather has fought nothing but top ten fighters, outside Bruseles and the older Sharmba, over the last ten years or so unless fighting someone moving up. When he's done that, it's been to face a marginal top ten guy at 30 (N'Dou) and two reigning lineal World Champs (135- Marquez; 140 - Hatton).
Saying they could fight someone else tougher than they have on occasion is fine. To say either is not fighting top ten guys, as the thread starter and one respondent did, is ******. I know that's the point on a lot of these threads but impressionable minds can read this horesh*& and actually think its true.Comment

Unranked contenders? HUh? Mosley is still considered a top five Welterweight. Clottey and Cotto easily the same (hell, Cotto was still top 3 at Welter).

rankings are bullshiet we all know that it all comes down on the quality of the opponents and whether they are in there prime or past prime.....pac's best win was barrera the rest of his opponents were either coming off brutal beatings (cotto, margarito) and one sided losses (mosley,)etc...i agree pac shouldn't be fighting martinez because it wouldn't be fair and would lose but why not fight berto and get another belt?Comment

since floyd became the number 1/1a p4p guy he's fought 3 out of 7 opponents who weren't ranked in the division he fought them. he also fought judah coming off a loss to a journeyman and baldomir. very impressive p4p resume indeed.Comment
