I was introduced to boxing in about '81 by my moms boyfriend, he just loved it. Then mom re-married and my step dad was big into it. The first fight I remember watching was Holmes-Cooney, although I had watched Muhammad Ali fights on Wide World of Sports, I just don't remember them.

But I really started following, buying mags and watching fights in '85. I remember watching Barry McGuigan take Eusebio Pedrozas crown on regular television. Then I got big into it when I started boxing myself in '86. Been involved for the most part in the sport since that time..............Rockin'

When I were just a young lad,I watched Prince Naz walk into a cauldron of pure animosity to completely and utterly dismantle my fellow countryman,Steve Robinson,in order to win his first world championship.Hamed was only 21 years old at the time, but he was already one of the most hyped boxers in the country. He was a breath of fresh air and brought new life to British boxing.Adults hated his ****y,arrogant demeanour while all the kids loved his outlandish personality and the sheer charisma that he brought to the ring.

Boxing was moving away from terrestrial television and into satellite television. All the major British talent like Bruno,Benn,Lewis,Hamed and Eubank were signed exclusively to Sky at this point, and Sky Sports had been covering all the major fights in America for a few years by this point, too. Not many people on the street had Sky,but I was fortunate enough that my uncle was one of the very few who did - and I spend the next couple of years staying up late into Sunday morning to watch the big fights in America.

Boxing was awesome back in the 1990's - back when genuine talent was being produced, and when so many excellent fighters that were actually willing to fight one another. No generic personalities and characters that bored you just by looking at them - they were all unique in their own way.

1989 Tyson vs Bruno is the first fight I clearly remember watching. I remember seeing other fights before on tv but cant remember who was fighting.

I started b/c of tyson. But I didn't get deep into until 2002. That's many b/c I never had hbo growing up until I got my own crib. I had to catch fights when ever I caught them.

I would watch Tyson fights growing up cause my brother would have parties and ****. Always liked it, really got into boxing because of HBO's Legendary Nights.
