A tough question but what I can say is, I did watching boxing as a young un. I remember watching Collins, Eubank, Benn, Calzaghe, Hamed, Bruno, Lewis, Tyson, as a kid. My grandad use to box, and absolutely loved the sport - he lived to fight. I rememeber he'd say 'you wanna box? I'll teach you a few things' He use to let me hit him in the stomach and say 'that's made of steal grandson' (lol). As a kid I use to stay round my grand parents house when I was a little boy, on the weekends boxing would usually be on ITV, so we'd all sit round the TV and watch the fights.

As I grew, I sort of grew away from boxing a little bit. Then around 18-19 Amir Khan appeared on ITV, I started taking interest in the sport, and soon become deeply passionate about boxing. And now I even box, something as a kid I'd never dreamed of doing (it's funny how your attitude can change as you age).

I am now what some would say a 'fanatic'. I tune into nearly every fight. I'd even rather stay in on a saturday night and grab a pizza, and watch boxing instead of going out!

No no it was Lewis alright. We didn't care about odds, and Tyson's name still resonated with the same hype as before around here. Lennox was a big name of course, but Tyson was a God. Even though he had already lost a few times beforehand and KO'd, I still believed him to be a superman incapable of being knocked out. It was just surreal, as I am sure the Buster fight was a hundred times more.

When I was a kid my family would watch De La Hoya fights so I knew who De La Hoya, Chavez, Vargas, Trinidad and Mosley were, but I started following it in 2007.

Judging by the first few responses, it looks like there are a lot of members that are ashamed of telling when they first started. My first live fight was in mid 1986 at age 13. Me and my mom ran into one of Tysons early fights on TV and watched it. It was the first fight I remember ever watching. He won by KO and the commentators said to remember this guy because he's going to be one of the all time greats. Tyson vs Frazier was the first fight I went out of my way to watch.
