There's very few posters here who know something about boxing. I've replayed that fight over and over again and one thing I can say is: Vitali won the fight but even he knows that the punch was not hard enough to end that fight.
He landed the right on Solis then Solis tried to balance and hurt his knee, look at the replays and watch Solis legs. Anyone who's had a sports injury know how much you can hurt yourself from things like that - Fat or Not.

Don't look a the replays as a fan of Vitali or to try and prove me wrong. Just look at the replays and use common sense.

I know, I know common sense is not so common.

A hard punch, a soft punch. Whatever it might be, a punch was landed and Solis went down miserably. That's a fact. If the injury hadn't happened? Well, the guy first needed to lose some weight to prevent that kind of injury. I for one wouldn't want to watch a piece of their rematch for now.

To anyone saying that Solis lost clearly by knee injury, if you look at Solis' left leg after that punch landed, Solis lost control of that leg and he just tumbled over.

It was a truly PATHETIC effort by Solis. He gave Vitali the easiest win since his comeback.
Agreed all the way. Solis was a fkn joke in that fight. He wasn't even hit that hard and was clearly wobbled by that shot and went down. Not to mention even though he was fighting for the title, he still didn't show up in great shape. Solis is talking shiiit now because he lost in the first round. He knows they'll never give him a rematch after that performance, thats why he says he'll fight for near nothing. This wasn't only Vitali's easiest fight since his comeback, this was his easiest championship fight ever. Maybe his easiest fight ever. At least one of them.

If Vitali knocked him down why did he run over to solises corner like he diddent believe for one second that the punch did eny damaged and solis was simply taking the easy way out ?´

              Look at the replay.

Secondly the injury has been comfirmt as legit, so he was not faking it , fact.

Vitali looked fired up and ready, and I do belive that he proberly would have won.

But why one earth would solis throw out his ticket to beat the pound for pound Heavy weight king and himself becaome a star ?

No the injury was legit, as a boxer myself, i have seen this kind of things many times before, and its usaly when you duck or avoid a punch, torn shoulders,/backs/knees, is just that a injury.

What was solis suppose to do ?, hop around like a one leged fool .

Im sad that the fight ended this way, and its all because the klitschko fans now concluding that it was a one round knockout , wich is not true , the bout ended because of a injury end of story.

But of course there is no such thing as a free performance. Even were Solis to fight for no money at all (a ludicrous proposition) there are the costs of promotion, stadium booking fees, and an undercard to see to. Not to mention Vitali's training camp. Are Solis and Oner going to pay for all that as well?

Seriously, I was hyped for this fight, but it ended in just about the worst way possible, and there's really nothing that would now make me want to see a rematch. Solis had his chance. He blew it. Let that be a lesson for future opponents not to come in grossly out of shape.

Exactly, the punch landed Solis tried to balance and the right knee gave in and that resulted in the right leg straightening and he fell on his back. The punch started the whole thing but it did not end the fight.
I've had a very similar injury playing football/soccer trying to mark an opponent.

I was still impressed by his gameplan and movement in the few minutes we saw against Vitali. If he heals up and takes his camps as seriously as the one for Vitali, he'll dominate the likes of Arreola and Povetkin.

I personally would like to see a rematch, but Solis is going to be out a long time and Vitali will be gone by then.
He didn't have a pre-existing injury, that was just BS Oner made up to save face. Solis got injured during the fall when Vitali knocked him down.

I would like to see Solis say these words to Vitali's face. And look him in the eye this time, punk.
