If he weighed 246 against Austin, he would have propably weighed araound 235 against Vitali but its not good to lose to much weight in a short time. The amount of weight Solis lost was absolutely right, he just should have started earlier to lose weight and never gone over 250. But still, this kind of injury can happen to any athlete, it often happens to professional soccer players also. I doubt it had much to do with Solis weight. I think he will come back lighter, even after the long layoff he will have! Solis and his trainer are a good team, they will come back and Solis time will come! Mark my words! This guys has all the tools you need and when he comes back in better shape the sky is the limit for this guy.
the mark of champions has always been discipline... just look at the current top boys... even with their skills and natural talent they still train like beasts

since solis turned pro he's gained over 20 pounds... he clearly is taking the road to an easy life rather than the road of a champion

u see guys like bernard or glen johnson atr 40 coming in looking tremendous - solis is a disgrace... if he was training and RUNNING then this injury wouldnt have happened

whether u think the punch was solid or grazing 1 thing is for certain - solis has shown he is no PROFESSIONAL

I guess the majority of posters on here are idiots then huh?

Solis was certainly wobbled by the punch and both legs buckled from the punch.

If the left ankle roll and the torn right knee ligaments don't clearly show that I say you are an idiot.

Lol. Hey, whatever makes you feel better Solis.
It's always funny whenever a guy makes an ass of himself and then tries to play it off all cool.

I respect what Solis says on the money end; he does owe everyone a free performance after he went into a hugely anticipated title fight with a pre-existing injury he did not disclose.

I was still impressed by his gameplan and movement in the few minutes we saw against Vitali. If he heals up and takes his camps as seriously as the one for Vitali, he'll dominate the likes of Arreola and Povetkin.

I personally would like to see a rematch, but Solis is going to be out a long time and Vitali will be gone by then.

if you actually fight him for free then i would have a lot of respect for you but otherwise your just looking to squeeze a pay day, you had your chance, what kind of band aid injures himself like that in the 1st round of the biggest fight of his life. and you call him a zero, you didn't fight him for 3 minutes, how the heck can you judge a fighter based on that.

Oner confirmed that Solis DIDN'T have a pre-existing injury before the fight. That was just another bullshit excuse. Solis was running at the open workout and was jumping around in the ring before the fight.

Vitali Klitschko: "I was inside the ring and I saw many, many times on video - the fight, and there is only one clear answer. I prepared the punch, half uppercut/half hook. I prepared this punch and I feel that I hit him pretty hard. Solis was knocked out, what happened after that, where he breaks his ligaments or his knee - it's his problem. I'm sorry the fight was so short. The next fight, I promise not to hit my opponent for the first three rounds, and then I'll knock him out. With Solis there are no excuses, this was a knockout punch"

He blew his big chance and now he's sore about it. Still there aren't many good HWs so he'll get another shot against a Klitschko at some point.

I'd like to see a rematch just because how the fight ended. The fight actually looked like it might competitive until that weird shot/injury.

Solis was plainly wobbled by the punch, hard as it is to believe for everyone who was watching (including Vitali).

Solis didn't land anything to give Vitali any trouble. Vitali has never been hard to hit, just hard to hurt. Even Sosnowski was able to land punches against Vitali, but as time went on the clubbing punches from Vitali took their toll.

Solis got a gift shot at the title due only to ridiculous WBC rankings that made him and Austin the top 2 contenders. He isn't going to get another title fight gift-wrapped for him like that one, so he'd better shape up and beat some real contender. I'd like to see him take on Boytsov.

Vitali has maybe two more fights left. He's not going to waste one on Solis.
