They're just towing the (co) promotional line. Gamboa earns less then Juanma. I don't doubt for a minute that he would take the fight right now.

But Juanma...there is some historical precedent...and stuff like this:

“We have two fights at 126, Orlando Salido and a rematch with Rafael Marquez,” stated Juanma. “I hope to go to 130 pounds for 2012.” He added that he expects to make stops in the 135lb and 140lb divisions, as well.
          http://www.*********.com/Boxing/juan...e-to-130-77098

          and this from today:

Arum told me that he plans on staging the rematch between “JuanMa” and Rafael Marquez in September in Puerto Rico.

So no Gamboa fight for at least a year and if he keeps on moving up it will never happen. I don't want to hear any conspiracy theory about evil old Arum. If Juanma wanted the fight he would take it now, the money excuse doesn't work because he can earn a lot more fighting Gamboa.

Yeah, at the guy's post-fight interview while dressed casually and with no contract about to be signed.

So it means nothing, Juanwhore, you dumbly grinning chump.

As hardcore boxing fans, this fight seems like it should happen now.... BUT IT SHOULDN'T! The thing is, this fight is GIGANTIC! But to the general public, it's not even on their radar. They hyping this fight up more and more so it can be the event it deserves to be. The key word being "event". This fight shouldn't be treated as just a fight. These two are great talents and just only entering their primes. Why make it so soon? I'd give it another year if I were Arum. This is the sort of fight that needs to be portrayed as a poster-boy for our sport. It'd be such a waste to make it happen so soon when casuals barely know their names. It is entirely business, and it makes a ton of sense.

Juan La Porte vs Salvador Sanchez wasn't on most ppls radar, only when La Porte was robbed against Chavez did they know....but this tyme, Juanma and Gamboa are both HBO Superstars at this point !!! Juanma has a PPV, every fight, no matter if he fights a bum or not, and Gamboa just headlined a good card on HBO, they both recieved enough fame to put in a MAJOR clash on PPV. Enough is enough, the tyme is now...

When is Bob Arum going to die? Not that I'm wishing for it. But I mean, some part of all of us is waiting for this guy to retire or croak.

Juanma vs Gamboa is a good fight but Juanma will def win this one... it will be hard but he will win. Honestly, right now is not the right time and its not the right weight class for this fight to go down.. Juanma can easily fill a stadium up.. Gamboa is not in that level yet.. my opinion is, they should just keep fighting other people and keep moving up in weight class until they reach 147.. thats were the money is at. im sure Gamboa will be alot stroger and better there and Juanma Ofcourse.. lets just see if Gamboa can make it up there undeafeded
JuanMa might one day fight at 147. However, Yuri will almost certainly never fight at that weight. He's 5'5 1/2" and built like a tank at 126. He'd be fat at 147.

how can juanma earn alot more fighting gamboa if hbo doesn't want to put up the money? if you watch the video i posted gamboa's promoter says that the budget hbo is offering is not enough for either guy. both juanma and gamboa what to earn good money if they fight but its not being offered, its simple as that.
