This legal war it's actually Donaire's fault. He should have thought about it but then again he sign a contract right after the fight with montiel? he could have at least got some rest and think about what to do next. Maybe it went up to his head once he knocked Montiel out in 2 rounds and got too greedy with the money. I stil would watch him fight on youtube but not on PPV; i feel it's not worth it yet. DOnaire! you should have been vacationing right now and enjoying the fruit of your labor instead your thinking about your future if your ever gonna fight soon, real soon which i doubt.

how much of a menso are you

If you already have a signed, binding agreement not to poach from eachother but still do it anyway? Seems to me that gbp likes being laughed at. I just don't get it. The other thing I find amusing is Burnstein tryin to soften the blow they received today. Its almost as if he's fishing for a victory which, if you looks at the details, more than likely gbp will come up empty handed again(the big one that got away). And I hate to say it but Rachel Donaire, who had a big hand in Nonito signing to gbp, screwed up on this one. She should have had a lawyer looks at his contract imo.

I just hope this suit Nonito filed is resolved quickly so the homie can get back in the ring asap. He's riding on a huge wave of popularity right now and needs to fighting in the ring, not in court(a lil mayweatheresque?).

The big question is, if the suit is dismissed or ruled in favor of TR, wil Arum punish the kid for trying to bounce out???????

            Read the article, people.
Doesn't it say that "Top Rank claims that he is bound by contract until June 2012" in the second paragraph?

They are just trying to cause turmoil in Top Rank, a complete biitch move

They are not affected in any way but now it seems like Donaire and Top Rank are at terms with eachother. He's trying to **** over Arum by Donaire's expense

To be honest, I saw this coming a mile away. Disputes on whether a contract has expired or not are always messy and the fact that he went ahead and signed with another company just made it that much worse. Unless GBP and Nonito decide to desist this is going to put him in the shelf for quite a while...

If they do desist I'm sure that due to the bad blood Arum would agree for Nonito to sign with GBP as long as he is given a large percentage of revenue from each and every one of his fights (like what happened with the Pac agreement). Its bad for Nonito and GBP but they got into this mess...

All they did was rule that GBP didn't have the right to sign Donaire because it hasn't been proven whether Top Rank has breached the contract or not. If Donaire wins that, then he will become a free agent and then GBP can re-sign him. So, it's still not over yet. Top Rank won the first battle but hasn't won the war yet.

But, if Donaire doesn't become free then Top Rank has him by the balls. And with all the **** Bob talked about his wife, this could get ugly. I wonder how much it would cost to put a hit out on a scumbag like Bob? I am not saying anybody should do that, just wondering aloud since I am sure people have thought about it before...
i personally think that donaire's main problem here is his wife. she tends to put him into serious trouble quite often, for example:

                  1. his feud with his parents has a lot to do with bad blood between them and his wife. thankfully, this was solved with both parties making up.
                  2. his most recent spat with philippine media was caused by his wife's unwise outburst on twitter, lambasting a number of filipino writers. again, thankfully, that was resolved.
                  3. i wouldn't be surprised if donaire's decision to leave top rank was influenced by his wife as well.

why am i saying this and not blasting sith lord bob?

that's cuz promoters are generally an untrustworthy lot and tend to be in it only for themselves. i mean, name me ONE big time promoter who is actually trustworthy and truly looks out for his fighters.

don king, golden boy and top rank are all the same, and its up to the fighters themselves to watch out how they deal with their promoters.

if donaire has problems in dealing with Bob, then he will most likely ALSO have problems with Golden Boy.

How Donaire feels is what really matters. That's the actual story. Honestly, who gives a damn how Arum feels.

This might actually be good news for fight fans. If Arum has the right to a few fights before hes a free agent im sure Arum is going to get the best money making fights and us the fans win
