Couldn't tell ya. Gamboa takes a lot of risks, whicb could be his undoing but then again, Juanma has a questionable chin. This fight HAS to happen so we can find out. I want a trilogy!

I think Naz was so awkward and his power made up for a lot of mistakes he made. When he faced Barrera, he was OUTBOXED.

I would say Gamboa is more of a classical boxer but Naz might have had more ability, could be close.
      I can buy that.

I just wanted to clarify, because it seemed you might've thought I meant that Yuri is a better boxer than JuanMa. I think Lopez is a better technical boxer than Gamboa. Maybe it's because Yuri relies more on his natural talent, maybe not, but it's what I've observed.

No I understood you perfectly and that was kind of my point. Not that you thought this but like I said, most people think that speed = boxing ability.

Sometimes in boxing the better skilled guy just loses to the better boxer. Kind of like the way Margarito made his career, his toughness and chin won him a lot of fights. The same way Tito's power won him a lot of fights and so did Naz's power.

I think Gamboa is definitely the better athlete but JuanMa is the better boxer. Both get hit a lot, that's why I can't pick a winner.

Like most things with this fight; I'm not completely sure who the better boxer is.

I think Juanma is better at pushing a fight, he doesn't lunge in as often as Gamboa (who's speed allows him to get away with it) while I think Gamboa is better off the back foot with his timing, counter punching and speed. Juanma is open when he throws hooks, Gamboa is open when he get's wild...it will be a fun fight if Bob allows it.

For the record, I think both of these guy's are vastly superior boxers to Naz. He relied on pure athletic ability, power and natural talent. Juanma and Gamboa have very solid skills as well as those things, Gamboa is also a better athlete.

There's no doubt Gamboa is the better athlete but that doesn't mean instant win, if that was the case we might never see a Mexican champion...hahah

I think JuanMa is the more experienced and better resume fighter. He's been in there with much better opposition than gamboa and we don't know what Gamboa will do when faced with a fighter like JuanMa.

The thing that would worry me if I was JuanMa is Gamboa's speed. JuanMa is open for a lot of shots, this could be bad.
Gamboa would have to take advantage of this in the EARLY rounds...

Yea exactly, I said that in one of my earlier posts. Early on Gamboa has the advantage but later the fight goes, JuanMa has the advantage.

lack of defense from both sides means a KO. there is NO defense from gamboa hence juanma wins.

I've only seen Lopez fight twice and thought he was a well rounded boxer but nothing spectacular.

Gamboa would win this easily by decision... Could win by KO if he cares to get wreckless.
Gamboa has the power and strength to hurt Lopez but weve seen some fundamental problems with Gamboas defense especially in exchanges. You dont wanna mess up in an exchange with Lopez cause thats his bread and butter. I think Lopez can beat Gamboa but he will take a lot of damage in the process.

Gamboa needs to put all risk aside cause thats what will end the fight for him.

D definitely a prob for Gamboa. I actually read ridiculous comparison between Gamboa vs RJJ or Mike Tyson. When RJJ and Tyson were in their prime, they did not get hit often. TYson in his prime had very good movement that avoided getting hit. I don't see this kind of movement from Gamboa.

to tell u the truth, i like this, they're both latinos, i would be sad for whoever lost to tell u the truth....

like its been said here, Gamboa needs to bring the pain in the early rounds to try and win, cuz if he doesn't i think he's toast...

the key for Juanma is THE JAB, CONSTANTLY, and the 1-2 and he'll be good....
