the boxing fan in me says that gamboa would be too classy for him and too fast
he's got too many dimensions
but the fight fan in me thinks lopez is the bigger man with the harder punch and better chin (though i wouldnt call it a good chin)
and he's been in the trenches before
gamboa's been down, but juanma has survived near death experiences.
one thing's clear
we wont be getting another bradley-alexander
did you see how lopez reacted to getting hit with flush bombs from marquez?

****en right, he was wobbled but kept coming forward, awesome warrior
I think Gamboa has the edge. And I think he needs to fight really smart , calmed and patient. Otherwise it could turn into a brawl and I dont think that benefits him.
This fight will not go to the scorecards.
Some ppl say Lopez is slow , but I don't agree with that. I think he has very good speed.
Both always come in great condition , and even though Gamboa seems to have the most confidence out of the 2. But he knows very well Lopez can hurt him bad , specially if he fights reckless . And even if he doesn't , Lopez has the tools to put punches together and if it goes into the late rounds maybe even make Gamboa going backwards. Which he is not bad at , but he gives Lopez the advantage if it happens.
It can go either way. Lopez's defense needs to be on point and Gamboa needs to take it easy cuz one punch can ruin his night. And make it an uphill battle.
I voted for Gamboa, but let me say something. I can see both guys being knocked out cold with one shot out of nowhere. Gamboa when he gets reckless looks like the type of guy who could go down for the count from the way he flurries. A good solid, well-timed punch could very well put him down for good. Lopez has been rocked before and Gamboa hits unlike anyone he's ever faced.
The bottom line is that Gamboa has the edge in my eyes. The amateur experience coupled with his speed and snapping punches should make him the favorite over Lopez...and yes, I agree that as the fight progresses into the later rounds, López should have the edge in deeper waters where Gamboa doesn't fight as sharp.
Gamboa should be the favorite, but I wouldn't mind putting up some points on López.
