And Bob is right, as it was stated many times before - Nonito and Racheal are Fil-Ams (Filipino-Americans who grew up in the USA). With Fil-Am's mentality and swagger; of which doesn't go with the "humble yourself" characteristic of the Filipino people in the Philippines (of which Manny is from). I think Nonito just signed his death certificate with the move to GBP...IMO Nonito would have just to wait a year and a half before he would've gotten either Juan Ma or Gamboa (if not both). Who are both with TR, IMO those two fights would've taken Nonito to astronomical pay-days. In two years Manny would've retired and Nonito would've been TR's next CASH COW.

But why is that? I mean does everybody that's Filipino have to have to same personality(not trying smart. Just a serious question)

No bro, everyone has there own personality...we're just trying to explain the two different "mind-set" of Donaire and Pacquiao. It all boils down to where they were raised (where did they grow up). Donaire and Pacquiao were both Philippine born, no arguement with that. But Donaire was raised in the the US while Pacquiao in the Philippines. That's the difference between them...the Filipino raised in the Philippines will have a more humble demeanor...while the one raised in the US will have a not so humble demeanor. You can take this as an example...as raised by another writer...MP doesn't talk smack at all about his opponents (even though his opponents talk smack about him). MP will say I give thanks to GOD, I trained hard and I got lucky when he wins. Donaire will say yeah I knew I would knock him out in 2 rounds, I studied him and I did. But don't get me wrong, Donaire is still a man of the FAITH and he still puts GOD first...but you'll never hear MP say that he knows that he'll KO his opponent; only that "it's nothing personal, I'm only doing my job."

Gotcha..... It's a cultural thing so I'll stay my azz out of this 1. As far as what bob said I'm really not surprised. He does that to all his fighters that leave when they are at forefront of their career.

Don't buy on that idea of bob. It's a half truth. If you trace it way back in his early pro career, Filipinos are behind him. The Donaire brothers have some boxing matches in the Philippines, and after the Darchinyan KO he became an instant star and 99% of Filipinos are behind him. Before Rachel came in, It's not true that nonito can't connect to the filipino population.

When Rachel came to his life, Filipinos were divided:

--knowledgeable ones, still supports him but hates the wife, Nonito is a really nice kid and it's the wife behind him who taints his image and personality and rifts Donaire's family relationship

--Pure boxing fans, they care less on the issues and still support nonito who brings them pride waving the red blue yellow flag in the ring

--Crabs(ignorance), they want to pull down nonito's career so he will learn a lesson and hopes Rachel will leave him when he is broke
