The pro Garcia people think he's the next super star, the anti Garcia people think he's trash.

The truth is, he's a solid fighter who is young and I thought showed a lot of patience out there. Some wanted him to finish the fight in about the 6th rounds but that's not his temperament. He is methodical, doesn't take chances and in the end, finished a solid pro in Remillard.

I liked what I saw and even though he can't beat JunMa or Gamboa right now, I do think his counter punching style and patience would be a tough match up for them in the future. He is very strong and a hard puncher. Seems to take a good shot as well.

    Give him 2 years IMO.
co sign- i thought he looked great, even though i was bored to hell, but very good prospect.....

Not ready for top competition yet IMO, people have been saying he took shots well, but he was getting tagged by a feather fist, so can't really tell yet, but he does look promising....

He'll be a special fighter, good listener, doesn't play to the crowd. He probably wont have the biggest fan base, but he'll have the most faithful fan base.

And you sir are not invited.

but if you don't give a flying **** ass what those morons say, he looks to be very promising and has a lot of technical skills.
you know it's sad because they base it on the fact that he has a life outside of boxing. Comm College degree and a graduate from Ventura's Police Academy but those who know and see him work know this kid is a boxer through and through as well. He just kind of drums to his own beat

He's fought some decent punchers, I think he has a good chin. He just needs more time. People want instant results, it's usually the people that have never boxed or are just casual fans.

I think for his age, lack of experience and really not wanting to box as a career, the kid is doing very well.

I really like his power though and his accuracy. He seems to connect even when the punches are blocked.

pizza? I guess that was post weigh in lol! I didn't hear that during the fights though.

I was talking about mikey not going to the body
no before the fight he went out on his own to go get pizza and developed stomach pains from it

i agree, he was getting hit a lot by remillard though, he needs to REALLY improve on that. I think he'll fight some easy opponent for the vacant IBF, and start getting ready for top competition...

In the bold up there is sad because he has the tools to be good, I don't know about great, but he comes from a boxing family, his brother is a good trainer, its sad, I would've loved to have that.... (not saying he's ungreatful or anything lol)

everyone around him kind of concedes taking on a JuanMa or Gamboa right now is too soon so they will develope him throughout the year. My guess is him taking on Barros next

its like that sometimes man. my dad played baseball but never made it to the mlb, i like baseball but never really wanted to play in any of the leagues growing up or in high school but my dad made me because i was so good. im not bragging at all. i didnt even really have to try and i could do things 2x better then all the other kids who was busting their asses. it just came natural to me. i didnt want to continue playing though once i graduated hs. maybe i made a mistake. who knows??? good for garcia trying to see what boxing gets him. he might not love but its in his blood and he should just run with it.
