i like that he keeps reserves of energy with the intention to use them later in the fight

reminds me of dawson, but he'll actually open up.

he did not stop punching intellegently and consistently until remillard was out of there.

i'd like to see him get another year under his belt
he looks to need the experience and confidence more than anhything else

anybody hear him complaining of body pain during the remillard fight?
i'd like to see what you guys think of that
it's not what you'd want to hear
but i could be wrong about what i hea
    rd
i didn't hear that, but I know mikey forgot about the body in that fight. he wasn't listening to instruction all that well.

and phantom, mikey could have gone for the kill much earlier. by the 5th remillard could have been convinced.

      Perhaps.

      Rem seemed pretty resilient.

About the body. Apparently Garcia ate some bad pizza and was sick.

He said he thought about quitting in the second round.

I think he could turn out to be a solid pro. I don't think he'll turn out to be anything special though.

          for the vacant ibf title.

it looked like he got a second win to me after the 6th and started fighting hard again, but he appeared to be ready. that's what I was saying earlier about seasoning, his brother tried to tell him in the corner to get him out of there.

pizza? I guess that was post weigh in lol! I didn't hear that during the fights though.

I was talking about mikey not going to the body

Once again it comes down to extremes in this place, should I expect anything less?

The pro Garcia people think he's the next super star, the anti Garcia people think he's trash.

The truth is, he's a solid fighter who is young and I thought showed a lot of patience out there. Some wanted him to finish the fight in about the 6th rounds but that's not his temperament. He is methodical, doesn't take chances and in the end, finished a solid pro in Remillard.

I liked what I saw and even though he can't beat JunMa or Gamboa right now, I do think his counter punching style and patience would be a tough match up for them in the future. He is very strong and a hard puncher. Seems to take a good shot as well.

                    Give him 2 years IMO.
