In Boxing, Which Nationality is most respected?

Man, you just KNOW that if you click onto a thread with the word nationality, or any derivitive thereof, there's bound to be a Mexican-Puerto Rican war on the horizon. That train is never late....

Anyway...the United States has, hands down, the greatest fighters in boxing history. As for "respect"? I'd have to go with Mexico. I think much of that perception comes from the toughness many Mexican fighters are known for. Some of the East European countries are starting to rise, though. Countries like Ukraine might make a conversation like this soon.
