He also said in another TV interview that Cotto is always saying "talk to my promoter" but I'm his boss "Mr HBO himself". Then Floyd went on to rag his win against Judah. When he got his grill busted open after Zab fought Floyd. I like Cotto's attitude and all but Floyd ducking him is as much as a farce as Floyd being scarred of Manny Pacquiao after he was ready to fight him and Pac walked away from the table. It's all bull****. Cotto was fighting on undercards but he was still at the Gatti fight along with Hatton and were noted as potential next opponents for Floyd, so don't go there. If you want to go there. Cotto when asked about fighting Floyd in an interview said one time "I fight whoever my promoter wants me to fight. Do you think if Cotto really wanted it, he would have done more? Floyd was the top guy in the division and Cotto was the challenger. Floyd was already considered the best in the division. Cotto needed to step up and get at Floyd. Just like Mosley, Martinez, etc.....Below is what Arum said....

"We're looking for guys like Ricky Hatton and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather. So you're seeing now the finishing touches on the emerging superstar, and in 2006 hopefully he will be able to claim the mantle of the real, real superstar."

Hatton emerged as the recognized 140-pound champion with his TKO of Kostya Tszyu June 11. Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king who is also promoted by Arum, stopped Arturo Gatti to claim a junior welterweight title two weeks later.

Cotto against either man would certainly qualify as a super fight, but before either match can be explored seriously, he has to keep winning."
Cotto wasn't even ready at his own weight class when Floyd moved up from 135.

yes margarito was the number 1 rated welterweight in the world for years. i thought you did research? once again you are using time machine logic. he got caught cheating so that makes floyds duck before that even happened ok?

Baldomir was the Lineal champion at WW, who just beat Zab Judah, who was the Undisputed WW champion. Let me see..... Margarito or Baldomir for the same money? Hmmm... tough decision. You should know by now that the only reason why that fight didn't happen is because Floyd wanted the Oscar De La Hoya fight along with it, so lets keep it absolutely 100. What year(s) was Margarito rated#1? Right after he went to ask Floyd for a fight and Floyd told him to keep winning and it would be greater later. Margarito lost to Paul Williams who was Margarito's mandatory but was avoiding Williams because he wanted Cotto but if he didn't fight Williams he would be stripped of his title and he wanted to come to the ring as a champion against Cotto. Basically, Margarito was going to do to Williams what Floyd did to Margarito, which would only be looking out for the biggest opportunities and best interest of your career. Calling Baldomir a bum to make Margarito look more like a threat huh? Well let Margarito give his opinion about Baldomir......

"The only two threats I see at 147 pounds are Mayweather and Baldomir," Margarito recently told ESPN.com over brunch in Las Vegas. He will have, he said, a rooting interest Saturday night.

"Mayweather should be the favorite," Margarito said, "but Baldomir's a dangerous fighter. We'll see."
These are not opinions but rather fact. Debate is done.

It should be, but I am sure more ignorance is forthcoming.

you seem to be hung up on what's said in interviews and the like. yeah floyd ragged on cotto because it took him 11 rounds to stop zab while floyd went the distance and got dropped. totally clowned him! what actually happened when they went to make a cotto fight? floyd made unreasonable demands and the fight never got made.

what happened when the fight was an actual super fight at 147? floyd kept making excuses and retired. if it was only about the money why didn't floyd fight cotto when he moved up and became a huge star which would have made him much more than 10 million? cotto calling mayweather out doesn't make one bit of difference. look how badly margarito called floyd out. no response.

once again you are using time machine logic. there were not 2 offers at the same time for 8 million. there was the margarito offer for 8 million which he rejected. then a month or 2 later there was the baldomir offer of 8 million which he accepted. now when floyd rejected the margarito fight for 8 million there was no possible way he could know anyone would pay him 8 million to fight baldomir. do you understand that he would need a time machine to know that? yeah he wanted the margarito fight so bad he was willing to reject a career high payday!

margarito lost to paul williams so floyd can't fight him for 8 million? but floyd can fight zab judah for 5 million after he loses to a journeyman? so many holes!

three words, Bitter Bob Arum. Do you actually believe Arum would ever sacrifice Cotto to Floyd? I think Arum believed Margarito was a good match up for Floyd, but c'mon. Cotto and Floyd were never going to fight. It is funny that you believe Bob Arum has nothing to do with any of these fights not being made. You could at least blame both equally.

Zab Judah got dominated by Floyd. Cotto mouth was wide open and on top of that. Cotto hit Zab Judah with two low blows to get out of what Zab was dishing out but with Floyd. Zab had to hit Floyd below to stop his onslaught.

why would i blame both equally when all the evidence points to floyd? floyd turned down career high paydays and gambled he would be able to generate more than that against his own cherry picked opponents. he gambled wisely.

mayweather lost more rounds than cotto and got dropped but his mouth wasn't open so that is more impressive.
